Ese fue el lema que uso el Cádiz CF para auto felicitarse en su aniversario.

Hoy no es un día más para el Cádiz y sus aficionados, hoy el club esta de cumpleaños, y es que hace 114 años el Cádiz Foot-Ball Club fue inscrito en el libro de registro de sociedades del Gobierno civil de Cádiz, naciendo de esta manera un sentimiento, una pasión, una forma de vida… Y que mejor manera de celebrarlo consiguiendo la victoria frente al Castellón en el día de ayer, sumando sus primeros 3 puntos de la temporada. Muchos de los jugadores han felicitado a su club por X, como viene siendo el caso de Álex Fernández, capitán del equipo o los canteranos como Chris Ramos o David Gil.

A pesar de ser fundado como tal en 1910, 7 años atrás se empieza a practicar este deporte de manera más regular en la tacita de plata, creándose en 1904 una sociedad llamada Cádiz Foot-Ball Club, las raíces de lo que viene siendo el Cádiz actual. Los primeros años fueron complicado, ya que el Cádiz de aquella época se tuvo que conformar con vivir a la sombra del Español FC, equipo que dominaba en el sur de Andalucía, llegándose a proclamar como campeón de esta comunidad autónoma en 1916.

En la década de los 30’s  y los 40’s, el Cádiz Foot-Ball Club vivió dos fusiones, la primera con el Mirandilla FC, este club le cedió sus instalaciones deportivas y su vestimenta amarilla y azul. Años más tarde vino una nueva fusión, esta vez con el Hércules Gaditano, esta unión resultó ser un fracaso, por lo que se deshizo al final de temporada. En 1955 se inaugura el actual estadio del conjunto amarillo, que por esa época tenía la denominación de «Ramón de Carranza» en homenaje a uno de los lideres del franquismo. Ese mismo año el Cádiz volvía a segunda división 10 años después.

En el año 1977, se consigue el primer ascenso a primera en la historia del club, alegría que duraría muy poco ya que la temporada siguiente sufrió el descenso a segunda división. En la década de los 80’s el club viviría su época dorada, ya que coincidiría en el club grandes jugadores como Mágico González o Pepe Mejías entre muchos otros. Además de estas estrellas juntas, la segunda mitad de esta época el conjunto amarillo se pudo mantener en primera división un total de 8 temporadas consecutivas, bajando en la temporada 1992/93 a segunda división.

En este nuevo siglo el Cádiz ha tocado todas las categorías, ya que lo empezó en Segunda B donde estuvo 9 temporadas consecutivas ( desde 1994-95 hasta 2002-03), una vez en segunda división el conjunto de la tacita de plata volvió a la máxima categoría del futbol español en la temporada 2005-06, pero solo pudo permanecer esa temporada en la élite. En la temporada 2007-08, el Cádiz volvió a caer en el pozo de segunda b, estando ahí 7 de 8 temporadas.

El 18 de abril de 2016, llegaría Álvaro Cervera al conjunto gaditano, Cervera consiguió el ascenso a segunda división ese mismo años, para 4 años más tarde conseguir el ansiado ascenso que la afición gaditana llevaba esperando 15 años y que no se pudo celebrar debido a la epidemia del Covid-19. En esta nueva etapa en la élite del fútbol español, el Cádiz CF permaneció un total de 4 temporadas, habiendo descendido en esta última a la categoría de plata.

En el mismo año que Cervera llegó a la tacita de plata, el Cádiz CF daba un paso hacia delante como institución, ya que en ese año se creo el Cádiz Club de Fútbol Femenino, actualmente milita en Tercera Federación Femenina. Sus partidos como local son en la Ciudad Deportiva Bahía de Cádiz, en el Campo 3, que cuenta con unas 500 localidades.
