Finaliza el Gran Premio de Abu Dhabi con victoria de Max Verstappen, seguido de Charles Leclerc y George Russell en tercera plaza

Una carrera con mucha acción, pero el mismo final de siempre con Verstappen dominando de principio a fin. El holandés completa una temporada para la historia con 19 victorias y más de mil vueltas lideradas, algo que parece irrepetible.

La Salida

Una salida muy limpia y con mucha acción. Leclerc intentaba arrebatarle la primera posición a Verstappen sin éxito, con mucha acción en la parte delantera de la parrilla. Norris adelantaba a Russell, Checo peleando con Hamilton y por detrás Stroll y Carlos ganando posiciones con el duro.

El primer stint

Russell intentaba pasar a Piastri (Vuelta 7), pero el australiano se defendía muy bien. Leclerc se quedaba sin distancia de DRS con Max y Alonso intentaba pasar a Tsunoda, mientras tenía a Gasly a medio segundo por detrás. Tras mucha acción en las primeras 10 vueltas, en la decimotercera comenzaron las paradas. Fernando entraba en esta vuelta y se encontraba en pista con Piastri, ambos con duro y rodando muy rápido obligaron a los demás pilotos de cabeza a parar para evitar el undercut.

Leclerc entró en la 18 para cubrirse de un Russell que era tercero y venía muy fuerte, a la vez Alonso pasaba a Bottas, que iba en las lonas y se colocaba noveno.

Carlos Sainz perdió la carrera en este primer stint, no encontraba el ritmo con el neumático duro, a diferencia de Stroll que si consiguió hacer funcionar el compuesto más duro.

Mitad de carrera

Stroll paraba en la vuelta 26 para dejar el duro inicial y pasar al medio, mientras que Carlos lo hacía en la siguiente vuelta. Pero esto no fue suficiente para hacer una estrategia a una parada. El español perdió mucho tiempo intentando alargar y no le sirvió finalmente. Estrategia desastrosa de Ferrari, que acabó retirando el coche en la última vuelta.

Checo con un muy buen ritmo pasaba a Alonso y se colocaba sexto. Tras esto hacía lo propio con Piastri, dejando al australiano en sexto lugar y siendo perseguido por Fernando. Esto complicó la carrera del español que estuvo muchas vueltas tras el Mclaren.

Max aumentaba la distancia con Leclerc a más de 8 segundos, mientras se realizaban las últimas paradas. Esto fue clave para la carrera de Norris y Russell, ya que el británico de Mclaren tuvo una mala parada y perdió la posición con el de Mercedes. 

Ferrari se cubría en la vuelta 35 de Russell, a la vez que entraban Hamilton y Alonso en la vuelta 37.

Final de carrera

Tuvimos la suerte de poder ver una vez más una lucha cuerpo a cuerpo entre Hamilton y Fernando, en la que parecía que el inglés tenía la mano ganadora tras el primer adelantamiento. Sin embargo, Alonso fue capaz de devolverle el adelantamiento y escaparse.

En la vuelta 49 se pudo palpar la tensión entre Norris y Checo, que seguía su particular remontada. El mexicano, se tiraba al interior en la curva 7 haciendo contacto con el británico. Esto resultó en una sanción de 5 segundos para Pérez, quizá demasiado dura ya que le ha privado de conseguir el podio.

En las últimas vueltas Charles Leclerc intentaba lo imposible, dejando pasar a Checo e intentando ralentizar a George Russell. Una estrategia un tanto maquiavélica que no dio sus frutos y Mercedes se coronó como subcampeón en Constructores.

 

Resultados

Verstappen finalizaba en primera posición acompañado de Charles Leclerc y George Russell en el podio. La sanción dejaba a Checo Pérez en el cuarto lugar, seguido de Norris en el quinto, Piastri como sexto, Alonso séptimo, Tsunoda octavo, Hamilton noveno y Stroll cerrando los puntos. Carlos Sainz se retiró en la última vuelta sin cruzar meta.

El mundial de constructores se queda tal y como estaba, con Ferrari sucumbiendo ante Mercedes, Aston Martin no ha podido alcanzar a Mclaren y Alphatauri quedándose a 3 puntos de Williams.

En el mundial de pilotos, Fernando Alonso se quedó con esa cuarta posición empatado a puntos con Leclerc y con Norris un punto tras ellos. Lastimosamente, Carlos Sainz cae a la séptima posición tras no puntuar y tener un final de temporada sin suerte en Qatar, Las Vegas y Abu Dhabi.
