«La Roja» firma unos 90 minutos sobresalientes y tras ganar por 1 gol a 0 a Italia hace soñar y mucho a los españoles con llegar lejos en la Eurocopa 2024.
Los de Luis de la Fuente realizaron un partido sobresaliente dominando en casi todos los tramos al conjunto italiano y, a pesar de merecer más en cuanto a resultado, el electrónico final les sirve para llevarse los 3 puntos y clasificar a la ronda eliminatoria.

El primero, del ariete rojiblanco; que al cerrarle el lateral napolitano, no le quedó otra que tirar al palo de Gianluigi y en efecto el portero la pararía. La segunda, sería de Fabián Ruíz. El mediocampista andaluz lanzaría una bala espectacular lejos del área que rozaría con la yema de los dedos el meta de los ‘azzurri’.
A continuación, los del seleccionador riojano dominarían como todo el partido y, pese a no haber anotado un gol en numerosas llegadas, firmarían unos primeros 45 minutos más que sobresalientes.
Segunda Parte
La segunda mitad comenzó con un susto para los españoles, ya que Rodri salió tocado de la rodilla, sin embargo, siguió jugando y no le afectó en grandes medidas el golpe aunque cojeara durante unos minutos.
Tras ese percance en el conjunto español, se estaría acercando el mejor momento para los de Luis de la Fuente; puesto a que en el 53′ el centrocampista culé y canario tendría una jugada tremenda para abrir la lata en la que Nico se la pasaría a Cucurella, éste la pondría al área y el remate del ex de Las Palmas se marcharía fuera.
No se conformarían los líderes del Grupo B con esto, debido a que finalmente marcaría la selección española en el 55′ después de que un tiro de Álvaro Morata le diera en la pierna a Calafiori y abriera el encuentro concediendo un gol en su propia meta.
La Roja no cedía el balón: los de Spalletti presionaban una y otra vez pero sin recompensa, y además, seguían llegando los de Luis de la Fuente. La siguiente más clara sería en el 70′: un zapatazo excepcional del pequeño de los Williams se toparía con el larguero e impediría a España dejar sentenciada su clasificación a la fase eliminatoria de la Eurocopa 2024.
España tuvo 2 oportunidades importantes más y sufrió en el descuento, no obstante, supo aguantar y se podrán permitir «descansar» ante Albania; donde jugarán presumiblemente los que menos minutos disputados llevan.
Por último, el conjunto español está ya oficialmente en los octavos de final del campeonato europeo con sede en Alemania pasando como primeros de grupo «b».
