A pesar de ser un desconocido para el gran público, Arturo Ruiz (Málaga, 15 de junio de 1992) es un técnico con bastante formación y preparación en el mundo del baloncesto, algo que deberá aplicar en su experiencia como primer entrenador en el equipo rojinegro.
El malagueño es Licenciado en Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del Deporte por la Universidad de Granada, de hecho, es en las practicas de esta licenciatura donde se incorporó al Coviran. En estas prácticas dentro del cuerpo técnico del entonces técnico, Pablo Pin, demostró su potencial, y es aquí donde, con el paso del tiempo, tras finalizar sus estudios, se quedó en el Coviran Granada como preparador físico y entrenador ayudante (junto a Zamo Fernández).
Su paso como ayudante durante 12 temporadas tanto con Pablo Pin, como en lo que llevamos de temporada junto a Ramón Díaz, le hacen identificarse al máximo con el proyecto y ser perfectamente conocedor del club. Solo se marchó de la ciudad de la Alhambra (a la que llegó en 2009) en la temporada 2021-2022, cuando tuvo su única experiencia como primer técnico en el SC Rasta Vechta, que por aquel entonces militaba en la Segunda División de Alemania, hoy en día, duodécimo clasificado de la Basketball Bundesliga.
