Los del Cholo Simeone han vuelto a hacer sonreír a su afición. 4 goles y 3 anulados han sido suficientes para tumbar a un Betis de Pellegrini que pierde su plaza en la «Uefa Champions League» para la próxima temporada.

El encuentro, que arbitró el colegiado Cordero Vega, se desempató a los 10 minutos con un gol de falta directa del astro argentino Julián Álvarez, que certifica una vez más su temprana adaptación al equipo madrileño. Para el 2-0, los locales tuvieron que esperar al descuento de la primera mitad, donde el central de origen francés Robin Le Normand mandaría el balón al fondo de la red de Adrián.

La segunda parte no cambió mucho

Ya en la segunda parte, el elenco sevillano recortaría distancias a los 67 minutos con el gol del castellonense Pablo Fornals, que no ha tenido la participación que se esperaba este curso. Sin embargo, 8 minutos después, Julián Álvarez volvería a ver puerta gracias a la asistencia de Griezmann, que parece volver a su nivel poco a poco.

A los 80 minutos, el VAR anuló lo que pudo haber sido el tercer gol del argentino, que sin duda ha tenido una noche para enmarcar en el Metropolitano. Ese gol anulado, pareció despertarle aún más, y ya cuando parecía que el partido estaba acabado, se sacó un pase de la nada para su compatriota Nahuel Molina y hacer el 4-1 definitivo en el marcador del feudo rojiblanco.

Aunque el choque estuvo parado durante varios minutos por las revisiones de VAR, las cartulinas no tuvieron mucho papel sobre el césped, ya que solo se mostraron 2, una a Nobel Mendy en el 89 y otra al mismo Nahuel Molina 3 minutos antes de hacer su gol.

Con esta victoria, el Atlético de Madrid duerme 3º con 73 puntos y deja a un Betis 6º con 59, a 6 del Villarreal.
