Tras una primera parte tímida, los verdiblancos sacan a relucir su garra para llevarse a España tres puntos vitales para su clasificación a los Play-Offs de la Conference League.

Comenzó de la misma forma en la que se había vivido el resto del choque, las mismas sensaciones y ocasiones, pero tras varios amagos de fallo defensivos locales importantes, finalmente en el minuto 10 de la segunda parte Cédric Bakambu mandó la bola a guardar con tranquilidad, adelantando a los sevillanos.

En el minuto 71, con el Betis lanzado a buscar la sentencia, un jugadón de Abde por banda izquierda, donde llegó a dejar atrás hasta a 4 rivales, derivó en el extremo siendo derribado en el interior del área, pero tras la revisión del VAR, el penalti en un inicio señalado, fue anulado, y el marroquí resultó amonestado por presunta simulación.
El Betis se libró del naufragio en los últimos minutos, ya que el Petrocub llegó a marcar, pero el juez asistente señaló la posición antirreglamentaria, permitiendo respirar más tranquilo al club del Villamarín en los últimos instantes del juego.
Los locales agotaron sus opciones en los minutos finales, pero el Real Betis aguantó y sale de Moldavia muy vivo en la Conference.
