Golden State Warriors gana a Oklahoma y se ponen arriba en el oeste junto a Suns y estos últimos
El equipo liderado por Stephen Curry vuelve a estar en lo alto de la clasificación y ahora miraremos con lupa los motivos. Son una de las mejores defensas de la liga y cuentan con el mejor banquillo, con gente como Buddy Hield, Melton, etc. La gente en San Francisco está contenta y no es para menos.
Una de las mejores defensas de la liga
Todo equipo se empieza a construir en la defensa. Tenemos bien aprendido que si quieres ganar el título en la NBA tienes que ser un equipo élite atrás. Los Warriors se han caracterizado los últimos años por ser top en este aspecto. Pero desde que ganaron el anillo en 2022 han bajado en este apartado. Esta temporada todo ha cambiado, Steve Kerr cuenta con piezas para practicar bien este baloncesto y lo están demostrando.
Draymond Green es el líder del equipo en defensa. Todo pasa por el y es quién organiza a los guerreros en este apartado. Los Warriors son 3º en robos (9,6), el equipo que peor porcentajes permite en el triple (31,9%) y el equipo que más rebotea (48,2). Además de estas estadísticas se aprecia una gran agresividad a la hora de defender su aro. Destacan por los 2 contra 1 a sus rivales y robarles la pelota. Lo que genera que sean 4º en puntos en transición (27.7) y 2º en puntos tras pérdida (21.3).
Hablamos de Draymond Green, pero como el mismo Kerr ha dicho esto no sería posible sin las nuevas piezas que llegaron este verano. Gente como Kyle Anderson y De´Anthony Melton son especialistas en defensa y lo están demostrando. Además, Andrew Wiggins y Gary Payton II parecen haber vuelto a su gran nivel y esto evidentemente ayuda.
Un gran ataque con el mejor banquillo de la liga
Los Warriors son el segundo equipo que más puntos mete, solo por detrás de los Cleveland Cavaliers. Y aquí entra la segunda clave esta temporada, su segunda unidad. El banquillo de los Warriors es el que más puntos anota de toda la liga con una media de 59,6 por encuentro. La incorporación de Buddy Hield es el motivo de esto. El escolta promedia 18 puntos en menos de 25 minutos, una auténtica barbaridad.
Golden State no ha cambiado su esquema de juego ya que sigue siendo el mismo que cuando fueron campeones. Para muchos fanáticos ver a Buddy Hield en este sistema les recuerda al legendario Klay Thompson. Y no es para menos, las jugadas que se hacen con el son las que se hacían con el actual jugador de los Dallas Mavericks. Es un maestro del «catch and shoot» y sus porcentajes lo demuestran, 48,8 % intentando algo más de 8 triples por partido.
Pero no todo es Buddy Hield. Kuminga ha pasado a ser parte de la segunda unidad y le ha venido genial. Lidera el peso del ataque cuando le toca además de estar en una buena versión en defensa. Es el 4º máximo anotador del equipo en solo 24 minutos. Le siguen Moody, Melton y Podziemski, todos claves cuando les toca su momento.
Aun así, esto no sería posible sin el mejor jugador de la historia de la franquicia, Don Stephen Curry. El base está en sus peores números en anotación en los últimos años. Pero esto tiene una explicación, ha jugado más de 30 minutos en solo dos partidos, ante Boston y Oklahoma. En ambas ocasiones para poner la guinda y ganar ambos partidos. Además, se perdió 3 partidos que ganaron sin él, lo que significa que no está tan exigido. 8-2 de récord y con licencia para soñar por todo lo alto en San Francisco.
