La selección de Venezuela enfrenta a México siendo la revelación del torneo y con la etiqueta de favorito, cosa a lo que no están aconstumbrados

Tras derrotar a Ecuador 1-2 remontando el partido con un jugador más, la Vinotinto se ubica como líder del grupo B junto a su próximo rival: México. Los dirigidos por el Bocha Batista están a una victoria de llegar a la última fecha con un gran porcentaje de probabilidades de clasificar a cuartos de final de la Copa América.

Por su parte la selección Méxicana ganó sin luces ni sombras ante Jamaica que se había adelantado en el marcador pero el VAR no lo dió por válido. Los de Jimmy Lozano perdieron a Edson Álvarez, su mejor jugador, tras sufrir un desgarro en el debut copero.

En los papeles el ganador de este partido está con un pie dentro de los cuartos de final a falta de un partido por disputar. Venezuela que está siendo etiquetada como la sensación y ya dio el primer paso, ganar el primer partido, a priori contra la selección más fuerte del grupo. Ahora con este partido demostrará que vino a dar el golpe sobre la mesa o no está preparada para cargar con la condición de favorito.

¿Cómo llega Venezuela?

La Vinotinto venció a Ecuador en un partido que se vió condicionado por la expulsión de Enner Valencia en el primer tiempo. Los venezolanos empezaron siendo superados contra 11 e incluso contra 10 encajaron un gol. No fue hasta después de los cambios en el medio tiempo con la entrada de Cádiz y Bello que se vieron por arriba de su rival. Con el 4-3-3 parecía que uno de los medicampistas sobraba por lo que Batista metió mano para empujar al rival hacia su área.

Con el 4-4-2 se vieron más cómodos, explotando las bandas y pase al centro para rematar. Afortunadamente la Vinotinto tiene jugadores desequilibrantes por las bandas como Soteldo, Machís, Savarino, Bello o los juveniles Andrade y Lacava. El delantero centro está bien cubierto con Salomón Rondón, que tuvo un gran partido ante Ecuador, o el mismo Cádiz que ingresó y poco después marcó.

Venezuela tiene que realizar algunos ajustes para terminar de ser un equipo estable, la banda derecha sufrió mucho a la espalda de Alexander Gónzalez por lo que Aramburu se perfila como titular para el próximo partido. Con mucha fe y confianza llega la Vinotinto pero como siempre con mucha humildad y serenidad sabiendo que con un partido no es suficiente.

¿Cómo llega México?

Los dirigidos por Jimmy Lozano no llegan en su mejor momento, el DT está llevando a cabo un «relevo generacional» en el que quiere dar una nueva vida a la selección con jugadores jóvenes. Sin nombres de peso como en su momento Guardado, Herrera, Chicharito, Vela u Ochoa los mexicanos tienen que hacerse un nombre entre las grandes selecciones de América.

Tras una victoria por la mínima a Jamaica y sin relucir un gran fútbol llegan por debajo en expectativas en comparación con el rival. Jamaica complicó gran parte del partido a los méxicanos e incluso con un gol de Michail Antonio empezaron ganando. El árbitro terminó anulando dicho gol a intancias del VAR y posteriormente llegó el gol mexicano.

Es tal el momento de incertidumbre que atraviesa el conjunto mexicano que incluso una parte de sus aficionados le soltaron la mano y perdieron la confianza. Otra parte de ella sigue creyendo y alegando que el equipo juega bien pero claramente no lo refleja en el campo. Al encuentro llegan por debajo en las apuestas pero no es un factor que influya y México siempre complica al rival.

Historia vs Actualidad

A lo largo de la historia México nunca ha perdido con Venezuela en los 13 encuentros disputados. Históricamente Venezuela siempre ha sido una selección sin mucho renombre pero a partir de hace más de una década que progresivamente fue mejorando y compitiendo mejor. Hoy en día se encuentran en uno de los mejores momentos de su historia y el rendimiento en esta Copa América podría ratificarlo.

Venezuela llega mejor al encuentro pero en este hermoso deporte no importa quién tiene más títulos o historias, son 11 contra 11 y compiten de igual a igual. El DT argentino está implementando una mentalidad fuerte y de no ser menos que nadie que ha calado a la perfección en el vestuario.

Lozano contra Batista, una selección campeona de su federación contra una que su mejor registro es una semifinal en 2011. Lo que está claro es que a priori será un partido cerrado y si existe una diferencia se va a ver en el campo porque en las horas previas son solo especulaciones. México tendrá que frenar a la revelación Vinotinto que se aferra a su fe que «mueve montañas».
