Cesc Fàbregas asumirá las riendas del Como después de un breve paso por el equipo juvenil.

Cesc Fàbregas, una leyenda del fútbol español de la última década, anunció su retirada el pasado mes de julio. El centrocampista colgó las botas en el Como, equipo de la Serie B italiana, pero su futuro quedó ligado al club. Fàbregas no solo adquirió una parte de las acciones del conjunto lombardo, sino que recibió una propuesta para entrenar al Como Primavera, equipo sub-19, e iniciar así su etapa como entrenador.

Sin embargo, su estreno en el fútbol profesional se ha adelantado a lo esperado. El Como acaba de destituir a su entrenador, Moreno Longo, en una decisión que ha levantado controversia. Longo había propulsado a los lariani a los puestos de promoción de ascenso a la Serie A, sumando siete puntos en sus últimos tres encuentros. Por ello, la destitución de Longo ha sorprendido a la opinión pública del calcio.

El Como ha confirmado, en paralelo con el cese de Longo, el ascenso de Cesc Fàbregas al primer equipo. En principio, el exfutbolista de Barça o Arsenal ocupará el banquillo de forma interina, tal y como puntualiza el comunicado de la entidad. No obstante, no se descarta que Fàbregas asuma las riendas del primer equipo del Como hasta final de temporada, impulsando así su carrera como técnico en el fútbol profesional.

Cesc se ligó al Como en agosto de 2022 con la intención de cerrar allí su carrera. Una grave lesión de tobillo precipitó su adiós al fútbol profesional, después de haber disputado solo nueve partidos como titular en toda la temporada. Ahora, pocos meses después, Cesc tendrá la oportunidad de dirigir en la segunda categoría italiana a jugadores como Patrick Cutrone, Simone Verdi o Daniele Baselli, viejos conocidos de la Serie A.
