El culebrón del invierno llega a su fin y el extremo del United vestirá la camiseta del Aston Villa hasta final de temporada. El jugador llega al club inglés con una cesión hasta final de temporada con opción de compra.

Monchi logra llevarse a uno de los jugadores más deseados del mercado invernal, el inglés Marcus Rashford. El acuerdo se ha cerrado con una cesión (en la que se cubre el 70 % del salario del jugador) con una opción de compra de 40 millones de libras. Los clubes lo harán oficial a lo largo del día, pero el periodista italiano Fabrizio Romano ya ha confirmado el acuerdo y  ha dado su clásico «here we go» a la operación. Unai Emery ha sido un factor importante, ya que ha podido hablar con el extremo inglés y convencerle del ambicioso proyecto que está construyendo junto a su director deportivo.

Desavenencias con el entrenador

El canterano ‘red’ sale por la puerta trasera de Old Trafford tras tener grandes roces con el técnico del United, Ruben Amorim. Toda su carrera como ‘Red Devil’

Rashford ha disputado en todo su periplo futbolero un total de 469 partidos, en los que ha marcado 153 goles y ha acumulado 61 asistencias. Sin embargo, sus cifras en la última temporada han sido más discretas: 24 partidos jugados, 7 goles y 3 asistencias. Tras la llegada de Amorim, el delantero inglés apenas ha tenido oportunidades con el Manchester United y ha dejado de ser convocado por el nuevo técnico de la selección inglesa, el alemán Thomas Tuchel.

Con este fichaje, el Aston Villa reemplaza a su principal referencia ofensiva, Jhon Durán. El colombiano fue traspasado recientemente a conjunto saudí Al-Nassr F.
