El debut de Colton Herta en la Fórmula 1 ya es oficial. El estadounidense estará presente en los libres 1 del Gran Premio de Barcelona, como su primer contacto con un monoplaza de la categoría reina en sesión oficial.
Colton Herta decidió cambiar de rumbo para explorar la oportunidad de formar parte del gran circo de la Fórmula 1. La temporada pasada puso fin a su etapa en Indycar tras siete años en la categoría. Con esto su objetivo es recalar en Cadillac como piloto titular, aunque todavía no tiene los puntos de superlicencia necesarios.
Para ello, este año tiene un programa de Fórmula 2 para conseguir los puntos restantes y ser elegible para un asiento lo más pronto posible. No cabe duda que en Cadillac quieren un piloto estadounidense y están preparando a Herta para ello, con las cuatro sesiones de libres que disputará este año.
Actualmente, ambos pilotos de Cadillac tienen contrato hasta finales de 2027. Por lo tanto, el estadounidense tiene tiempo de preparación para optar a un asiento de cara a 2028, por lo que, tendrá que destacar tanto en Fórmula 2, como en los libres que hará esta temporada, empezando por Barcelona.
Primera vez en el coche
