El argentino se sobrepuso a un toque con Ocon para llegar a meta en décima posición
Franco Colapinto ha conseguido puntuar por primera vez con el equipo Alpine. Después de una temporada, en el que la marca francesa tenía el último coche, en la segunda carrera de 2026 han llegado los puntos.
Alpine llegaba a este gran premio con el primer punto sumado por Gasly en Australia, aunque había esperanzas de más después de una pretemporada en la que sorprendieron a todos en la zona media. Sin embargo, en el primer GP de la temporada, tanto Haas como Racing Bulls batieron a los franceses, cosa que no ha sido así en China.
Franco Colapinto viajaba por primera vez a un Gran Premio de China, debido a que tanto en 2025 como 2024 subió a Fórmula 1 a mitad de temporada. Por eso, el argentino fue de menos a más, empezando por la primera clasificación, en la que fue el primer eliminado de la Q2. Posteriormente, en el sprint fue hacia adelante, pero no estuvo cerca de los puntos, al igual que Gasly, que tampoco entró en el top 10 en la primera carrera del fin de semana.
No obstante, todo cambió a partir de la mitad del fin de semana. En la clasificación que organizaba la parrilla del domingo, se vio un Alpine con más velocidad, con Gasly entrando a Q3, mientras que Colapinto se quedaba a cinco milésimas, siendo duodécimo.
En carrera, rápidamente subió a puestos de puntos, donde estuvo peleando durante toda la carrera, a pesar de todos los inconvenientes. El `43´ partió con los duros, y vio como el Aston Martin de Lance Stroll se quedaba parado pronto, provocando un Safety car que le iba a perjudicar.

Franco relanzó el coche de seguridad en segunda posición, y pronto empezaron las batallas, primero con Ocon, que tampoco había parado, y posteriormente, con todos los que iban con gomas frescas.
Colapinto fue perdiendo posiciones hasta que tuvo que entrar en boxes a por medios, y precisamente, nada más salir de la calle de boxes, accidente con Ocon en la horquilla de la curva 1. Un incidente, por el que fue sancionado el francés, que dejaba al ex de Williams con parte del fondo roto.
A partir de aquí, con visiblemente menos ritmo, luchó por remontar hasta las posiciones de puntos, que marcaba Carlos Sainz. Aunque, a pesar de todo, la fortuna todavía jugó a favor del argentino, ya que, un abandono de Verstappen le daba la décima posición. Aun así, siguió remando para alcanzar al español, que finalmente resistió los ataques de Colapinto en las últimas vueltas.
Décima posición de Colapinto, que podía haber sido mucho más, pero deja buenas sensaciones y consigue sus primeros puntos con Alpine tras un 2025 de vacío.
“Estoy contento de sumar mis primeros puntos para Alpine, pero también estoy frustrado y con ganas de más. Algunas cosas no salieron como esperábamos hoy y, aunque volver a los puntos es un buen logro, sé que podíamos haber dado más”, dijo Franco al finalizar el Gran Premio de China.
