Hoy, en Agente Libre Digital, tenemos con nosotros a un futbolista muy especial para el CD Leganés. Un canterano pepinero, formado prácticamente desde niño en Butarque, y que hoy, es una de las piezas clave del primer equipo. Estamos hablando nada más y nada menos que de… ¡Lalo Aguilar!

Lalo Aguilar: «Después de tantos años, soy un pepinero más a nivel de aficionado»

P: Llegaste al Leganés siendo infantil, con 11–12 años, procedente del Atlético de Madrid. Imagino que de pequeño, como aficionado, te tiraba más el Atleti, pero después de más de 12 años aquí… ¿te consideras un pepinero más?:

R: «Sí, por supuesto. Al final de pequeño nuestros padres nos inculcan los equipos grandes como aficionados, pero una vez estás en un club como el Leganés tantos años, te haces pepinero. Este sentimiento de pertenencia es único, y después de tantos años, sinceramente soy del Lega.»

Lalo Aguilar: «Ese Lalo de hace trece años no se creía que podía llegar a firmar un contrato así»

P: Has renovado hasta 2029 con un club por el que has estado durante casi toda tu trayectoria formativa. ¿Qué se te pasa por la cabeza cuando firmas una renovación así?:

R: «Te acuerdas de todas esas personas que han estado a tu lado. Desde que entré en infantiles, como bien has dicho, paso a cumplir un sueño. Si es cierto que he tenido otras renovaciones anteriormente, pero nunca ha sido tan importantes y de tanto tiempo como esta. Ya estando en el fútbol profesional, es un orgullo. Muchas veces me pasa que me pongo a ver fotos de cuando jugaba en el Lega de pequeño y ese Lalo de hace trece años no se creía que podía llegar a firmar un contrato así. Es un tremendo orgullo.»

P: Comentabas que no pensabas poder llegar a firmar una renovación así… Cuando miras atrás y te ves llegando desde infantil, ¿hay algún momento en el que pensaste que no llegarías hasta aquí o lo tenías claro desde el principio?:

R: «Es cierto que a todos los futbolistas nos pasa que tenemos momentos de dificultad. Me acuerdo cuando subí al Leganés «B» estuve casi media temporada sin jugar. Es duro para un jugador, pero el trabajo que hacen en la cantera pepinera con todos los niños para llevar estos temas de no frustrarse y de seguir trabajando aunque las cosas no se den, lo hacen bastante bien. Agradecer a todas las personas que estuvieron a mi lado porque nunca me dejaron bajar los brazos. El trabajo tiene su recompensa.»

Lalo Aguilar: «Quiero ser un ejemplo para los chicos de la cantera pepinera y no fallarles»

P: Desde fuera se te ve como un ejemplo de ese canterano que sí llega al fútbol profesional… ¿Sientes que representas un poco a todos los chicos de la cantera del Lega o de cualquier club que sueñan con llegar lejos algún día?:

R: «Sin duda. Yo me acuerdo cuando era canterano que los que entrenaban con el primer equipo eran como ídolos en un vestuario de chavales tan jóvenes. Tengo la suerte de cruzarme con algunos niños de la cantera, pararme y echarme una foto y hablar con ellos. Notas esas caras de ilusión, esa alegría y eso me transmite muchísimo para seguir entrenando, seguir siendo un ejemplo para ellos y nunca fallarles.»

P: Cuando ves ahora a jugadores jóvenes del filial o del juvenil jugar en el primer equipo, casos como los de como Marcos Leiva o Djibril Gueye, ¿te ves reflejado en alguno de ellos?:

R: «Sí, claro que me veo reflejado. Intento estar siempre cerca de ellos, al igual que lo hacían veteranos hace tres o cuatro años cuando empecé a subir con el primer equipo. Los veteranos de aquel entonces me ayudaban a mí, eran cercanos, me corregían y trataban de sacar lo mejor de mí. Yo quiero seguir esos pasos que han seguido conmigo y ayudar a todos esos chavales que tienen una muy buena oportunidad de estar con el primer equipo. Les aconsejo que no se relajen, que están entrenando y ya está. Les queda mucho y tienen mucho potencial.»

Lalo Aguilar: «Quiero seguir demostrando, seguir siendo titular y así hasta que me den la oportunidad de cosas aún más grandes»

P: Has pasado de ser un pepinero más que de pequeño tomaba el fútbol como un hobby a alcanzar 50 partidos en Segunda División con el Leganés en noviembre. Después de haberte asentado prácticamente en el once, ¿sientes ya esa responsabilidad de ser uno de los jugadores importantes del equipo?:

R: «Sí. Estoy acumulando titularidades y ayudando al equipo como cualquier otro compañero. No es motivo ni muchísimo menos para relajarme ni para pensar que ya me he asentado, que ya tengo la confianza del entrenador o que me tengo que relajar (…). Todo lo contrario: quiero seguir demostrando, seguir siendo titular y así hasta que me den la oportunidad de cosas aún más grandes.»

«Se me pasó la temporada volando en Albacete. Fue como jugar con mis amigos de hace quince años.»

P: Antes de todo esto, en el verano de 2024 saliste cedido por primera vez fuera de casa, rumbo a Albacete. ¿Cómo fue esa adaptación, lejos de Madrid y viviendo solo para convertirte en indiscutible tan rápido en el Belmonte?:

R: «El Lega ascendía a Primera, no iba a tener muchos minutos y se dio la situación de jugar en el Albacete. Allí, me acogieron y me trataron genial. Los aficionados, jugadores, cuerpo técnico y trabajadores del club son muy cercanos. Tuve la gran suerte de tener compañeros espectaculares que me pusieron todo muchísimo más fácil. Se me pasó la temporada volando. Fue como si hubiera seguido jugando con mis amigos del Leganés de hace quince años. Éramos un grupo de amigos y nos llevábamos todos súper bien. Eso al final te facilita mucho la adaptación a un club.»

P: En esa rápida adaptación, ¿quién te ayudó más en ese proceso de crecimiento, dentro o fuera del campo?:

R: «Tuve la suerte de que justamente el Albacete también ficha a Nabil Touaizi; que es un extremo con el que coincidí en mi cesión en el Atlético Madrileño, en el filial del ‘Atleti’. Él me ayudó muchísimo. En el cuerpo técnico, tuve la suerte de coincidir con más que profesionales, son personas maravillosas. Estaban muy cerca mío y me ayudaron muchísimo también.»

«Me fui fastidiado a casa porque me hacía mucha ilusión volver al Belmonte»

P: El motivo inicial de esta entrevista iba a ser tu vuelta al Carlos Belmonte, pero no pudo ser. ¿Se te quedó esa espinita de no jugar ante el Albacete, un club donde te tenían y te tienen mucho cariño?:

R: «Sí, sin duda. Ya me pasó lo mismo en Butarque por una pequeña lesión que tuve y por la que no pude jugar en Copa del Rey. Estaba tranquilo porque todavía tenía la opción de jugar en el Belmonte. Finalmente, tampoco jugué por esa quinta tarjeta amarilla en el partido anterior contra el Sporting de Gijón; que encima tuve la mala suerte de que fue en el minuto 92’… Me fui fastidiado a casa porque me hacía mucha ilusión volver allí, ver a la gente, ver a esa gran afición… Se me queda la espinita clavada como tú dices.»

P: A pesar de perderte el último partido por sanción, el equipo logró allí una victoria con remontada. ¿Crees que puede ser un punto de inflexión para empezar a escalar puestos?:

R: «Por supuesto. Empezar el año con una victoria es muy positivo y queremos seguir en esta línea. Veremos cómo se da este fin de semana ante el Real Valladolid.»

P: ¿Nota Lalo al equipo más liberado y menos tenso después de esta última victoria?:

R: «Es cierto que tanto las victorias como las derrotas te deben durar un día. Aún así, al día siguiente había alegría en el vestuario, caras buenas y todo era positivismo. Para seguir así queremos seguir por esta línea y buscar la victoria. Cuando se gana todo parece que está mejor, peor tenemos que seguir trabajando.»

«Transmitimos tranquilidad en el vestuario. Nosotros funcionamos partido a partido y sin pensar en objetivos»

P: Desde fuera hay mucho debate con cuál es el objetivo real del Lega de aquí al final de temporada… Desde dentro, ¿cómo está el vestuario y qué mensaje transmitís internamente?

R: «Sobre todo un mensaje de tranquilidad. Llevamos muchas semanas haciendo autocrítica. Nosotros funcionamos desde el partido a partido, ganar y no pensar en objetivos; que es lo que nos puede nublar un poco la mente. Nos gusta pensar en el día a día y en el presente. Es lo que nos va a hacer llegar a cosas bonitas.»

P: Entonces se habla más de ir partido a partido que de mirar hacia arriba, ¿no?:

R: «No, pero ese desde el principio de temporada. Nadie se puso ningún objetivo. Es cierto que obviamente a todos nos hacía ilusión estar arriba. Es un requisito que el club y nosotros internamente también nos ponemos. Pero cuando te pones objetivos a largo plazo nunca sabes lo que puede pasar. Es mejor ir partido a partido, vivir el presente y pensar en qué pasará fin de semana tras fin de semana.»

«Si queremos llegar a algo grande, debemos cambiar muchas cosas. A la afición darle las gracias y a por esta segunda vuelta juntos»

P: A esa afición exigente y a la vez cercana, que quiere celebrar una victoria en casa, ¿qué mensaje le mandarías después de esta primera vuelta para que sigan creyendo y empujando?:

R: «Es normal que sean exigentes y pidan una victoria en Butarque. Si queremos llegar a algo grande, debemos cambiar muchas cosas. El mensaje es el mismo: que nos sigan apoyando como siempre hacen. Son autocríticos, pero están ahí. Darles las gracias y a por esta segunda vuelta juntos, no queda otra.»

P: Si tuvieras que mojarte, ¿en qué puesto crees que terminará el Leganés en mayo?:

R: «No, no. Yo no hago eso. Soy muy supersticioso y luego la lío. No me gusta hacer esas cosas (risas).»

P: Y más allá de un puesto, ¿qué sería para ti una buena segunda vuelta?:

R: «Ganar la mayoría de los partidos sería bastante bueno. Eso traería cosas bonitas.»
