Planteamiento del entrenador
García Pimienta destaca por tener un plan de juego muy posicional y con importancia para los extremos ofensivos. A pesar de ser fiel a su estilo, contra el Real Betis en la pasada jornada el equipo jugó mucho más directo y sin ‘marear’ tanto la bola en ataque.
El entrenador catalán ya ha sido notorio dentro de un Sevilla que se acerca al lugar donde ha sido correspondido durante años: Europa. Para la clasificación a estos puestos son claves los tres puntos del domingo, que supondría no descolgarse de sus vastos competidores.
Portería
La posición de guardameta en la plantilla andaluza está cubierta con garantía. Nyland ya ha dejado más de una actuación memorable en las filas de Nervión. Son 27 goles en 22 partidos disputados esta temporada. Aunque no todo es perfecto. El noruego ha dejado algún fallo de despiste que ha provocado un guarismo indeseado en el marcador contrario.
En el banquillo espera Álvaro Fernández que tuvo su etapa de titular en la que, precisamente, se enfrentó al Atleti en la primera vuelta.
Defensa
Como pasa en la totalidad de la plantilla, la línea defensiva está descompensada con jugadores que destacan por encima de sus compañeros. El caso positivo es el de Loic Badé que ya ha llamado la atención de más de un club de las grandes ligas.
Su compañero de posición destaca por su irregularidad. Kike Salas ha llegado a jugar de lateral por derecha también, aunque donde mejor nivel está dejando es en el centro de la defensa.
Los laterales tienen sus pros a los que les siguen notables contras. Pedrosa es muy útil incorporándose al ataque, pero en defensa posicional le cuesta más. Carmona, en cambio, es más regular en ambas modalidades, pero no destaca en ninguna.
Mediocampo
La zona de creación y distribución de jugadas se compone de un fijo y varios variables. El fijo es Gudelj, que ha sido titular en casi todos los encuentros, aunque ya se le va notando la edad en algunos aspectos.
Los variables son jugadores con despuntes en algunos partidos, pero que se caen al abismo cuando hay más exigencia. Desde Djibril Sow -el más habitual- o Sambi Lokonga, hasta Agoumé o el ex rojiblanco Saúl Ñíguez; ninguno se ha asentado con autoridad en el once sevillista. Además, se asoma un revulsivo con buenas características para revolucionar encuentros como Peque, jugador rápido y habilidoso. Algo así como ‘el Correa del Sevilla’.
Uno de los recursos que se guarda García Pimienta es el de poner a Juanlu Sánchez de mediapunta o centrocampista más adelantado. Sorprende porque la posición natural de Juanlu es el lateral derecho.
Delantera
Como resaltaba en el planteamiento, lo más interesante del equipo y a su vez más importante, son los extremos. El mejor de esta zona y que mejor resultados está dejando en el club es Dodi Lukebakio. Con once goles es el máximo goleador del equipo con gran diferencia del segundo.
En el lado opuesto del belga, se debate la posición entre dos jugadores que son expertos en regatear en huecos inesperados. Estos son Rubén Vargas y Chidera Ejuke, que le dan electricidad a esa banda ayudados por Pedrosa y sus incorporaciones al ataque.
En la punta de lanza y siendo el teórico encargado de los goles, el puesto es de Isaac Romero. Un delantero que tiene mucho trabajo sin balón -sobre todo en la presión-, pero que le falta pulir la definición al arco. Tiene tiempo: tan solo sopla 24 velas.

Can I simply say what a comfort to find a person that actually understands what they are talking about online. You certainly realize how to bring a problem to light and make it important. A lot more people need to look at this and understand this side of your story. It’s surprising you’re not more popular given that you most certainly possess the gift.
