El atacante se convirtió en el jugador mexicano con más goles en la Premier League (55) tras superar al Chicharito. El jugador anotó un doblete para darle el empate al Fulham frente al Ipswich Town.

Raúl Jiménez ha hecho historia en la Premier League. El jugador del Fulham ha superado a Javier «Chicharito» Hernández y se ha convertido en el mexicano con más goles en la competición inglesa con 55 goles. Lo ha hecho tras anotar dos goles de penalti frente al Ipswich Town para darle un punto a su equipo. Actualmente es uno de los delanteros más en forma de la competición y está siendo providencial en los planes de Marco Silva.

El atacante de 33 años cambió Wolverhampton por Londres el verano pasado y, después de una primera temporada con altibajos, le ha conseguido quitar el puesto a Rodrigo Muniz a base de goles y buenas actuaciones. Considerado como uno de los delanteros centros más en forma de la Premier, Raúl ha conseguido darle diez puntos al Fulham con sus goles. Ha visto puerta contra equipos como el Aston Villa, Newcastle o Arsenal y con él sobre el campo tan solo ha perdido en tres ocasiones.

Camino complicado

A pesar de haber hecho historia, la carrera de Raúl Jiménez no ha sido fácil. Para empezar llegó con un cartel de joven promesa al Atlético de Madrid, pero no se consiguió adaptar y la temporada siguiente se marchó al Benfica. En el país vecino, Rui Vitória le dio continuidad en el once y poco a poco consiguió volverse indispensable en el equipo. Los Wolves decidieron que Raúl sería su delantero titular en su vuelta a primera división en 2018 y desembolsaron 38 millones de euros para hacerse con sus servicios.

En el equipo de Londres ofreció su mejor rendimiento y en la temporada 2019/2020 consiguió anotar 27 goles en todas las competiciones, las mejores cifras de toda su carrera. Una lesión de cráneo truncó su gran momento y las dificultades para volver al campo de juego (tenía que jugar con una máscara) terminaron mermándole e incluso a pensar en una posible retirada. Finalmente Raúl Jiménez decidió quedarse en Inglaterra y el Fulham se hizo con su pase a cambio de 6,4 millones de euros. Una carrera llena de altibajos que finalmente ha conseguido sellar un hueco en la historia.
