Sin embargo, el propio Fonseca ya desveló anoche que había recibido la notificación de su despido. La aventura del extécnico de Roma o Lille en San Siro llega a su fin después de apenas seis meses. Fonseca paga así el turbulento rendimiento del Milan, octavo en la Serie A.
«El AC Milan anuncia oficialmente que Paulo Fonseca ha sido relevado de sus funciones como entrenador del primer equipo masculino. El club agradece a Paulo su gran profesionalidad y le desea lo mejor para el futuro», se lee en la nota del Milan. En las próximas horas se espera contextualmente el nombramiento de Sérgio Conceiçao como su sustituto. El exentrenador del Porto firmará un contrato hasta final de temporada con opción de extensión.
