Marcelino compareció ante los medios de comunicación después de conseguir la victoria frente a Las Palmas por 3-1. El técnico asturiano se mostró muy satisfecho con el trabajo del equipo y resaltó que merecieron ganar, aunque no iba a ser un partido nada fácil.

El entrenador groguet analizó la importancia de la victoria: “El resultado es justo. Logramos una victoria importante, que nos pone terceros, y con la que nos vamos muy contentos”
Marcelino hizo hincapié en el buen trabajo realizado en la segunda parte: “A partir del 1-1, hemos estado muy bien. Hemos generado peligro y hemos jugado como un equipo. Tuvimos de todo: criterio, fluidez, oportunidades, un penalti fallado, un gol anulado en fuera de juego…En la primera mitad, no ajustamos bien la presión y no estuvimos acertados en las circulaciones. Nos faltó pausa. Buscamos demasiado el contragolpe. Aunque es verdad que así hicimos el primer gol”.
Por mucho que los resultados lleguen, Marcelino confesó que hay margen de mejora, especialmente en la zona defensiva: “Nuestro objetivo es ser mejores. Y es evidente que tenemos que mejorar muchas facetas del juego, pero estamos bien. Somos un equipo con muchos cambios y un calendario muy difícil para el inicio. Estamos orgullosos de estos futbolistas. Muchos no hablan mucho castellano, pero trabajan mucho y quieren ganar partidos. Por eso estamos muy agradecidos. Todos habríamos firmado estar así a estas alturas”.
Por último, agradeció a la afición por el apoyo durante los noventa minutos: “Le damos las gracias a la afición. Están con el equipo. Es cierto que el equipo se esfuerza, trabaja y lucha por ganar cada partido. Está transmitiendo ambición, ilusión y pasión. Y los aficionados lo perciben. Estamos satisfechos de que disfruten y de que nos puedan ayudar”.
