¿DE DÓNDE VIENE EL CLUB?
En 1997, nació el club. Se conformó por la unión del Club Atlético de Marbella, además de adquirir las canteras de la Unión Atlético Marbella y el C.D. Cultural.
El club empezó a competir en la regional andaluza con la plaza de la UD Marbesula, pero el salto a la categoría nacional, solo tardó una temporada, ya que, en la 97/98, ascendieron a la Tercera división.
En esta división estuvieron hasta la 2002/2003, donde ascendieron a la antigua Segunda ‘b’. En la categoría de bronce estuvieron hasta la 2009/2010. La temporada fue histórica, ya que, disputaron la Copa del Rey ante el Atlético de Madrid, pero consumaron su descenso a la Tercera división.
Hasta la temporada 2013/2014 el club no salió de la cuarta categoría del fútbol español. Este ascenso, sucedió bajo la dirección de Alexander Grinberg.
UN PASO ADELANTE
El 19 de noviembre del 2018, todo cambió para el Marbella FC, ya que, llegó a la presidencia del club Mr. Zhao Zhen, con la intención de darle un impulso a nivel estructural y deportivo a los andaluces.
En los inicios de la nueva presidencia, se realizó la reforma en la federación, antes de este hecho el club se encontraba en la Segunda ‘b’, y tras la temporada en cuestión acabaron en Tercera Federación. En esta categoría permanecieron dos temporadas, hasta que en la 2022/2023, consiguieron el ascenso a la Segunda Federación.
La temporada pasada, el conjunto marbellí, alcanzó la tercera plaza y los consecuentes playoffs, en los tras eliminar al filial del Getafe y a la UD Logroñés, confirmaron su ascenso a la Primera Federación.
¿HACIA DÓNDE VAN?
El conjunto marbellí quiere hacer historia y llegar al fútbol profesional y asentarse, así lo confirmaba su CEO, el mítico Esteban Granero: »Queremos llegar al fútbol de élite, pero dando pasos firmes».
El Marbella FC, no para de dar pasos hacia adelante, en este mercado se ha visto reflejado en los fichajes del equipo. Los nombres de Ryan Edwards, Bernardo Espinosa o Callejón, han puesto al club en el foco mediático y competitivo.
La temporada se presenta muy ilusionante, el club no para de crecer y es posible pensar en unos posibles playoffs, después conseguir dos ascensos consecutivos.
En la primera jornada consiguieron vencer al Real Madrid Castilla, con gol del mítico Callejón, hecho que hace elevar el nivel de ilusión en la afición.
Un club en una evolución perenne, que busca colocar a Marbella en el mapa futbolístico español, veremos si consiguen dar uno de los pasos más complicados en el fútbol, llegar al fútbol profesional.
