El croata renueva un año más con el Real Madrid y afrontará una temporada plagada de nuevos retos
Su renovación se estaba haciendo de rogar, pero finalmente Luka Modric jugará en el Real Madrid al menos una temporada más. El club blanco ha hecho oficial la continuidad del croata, que vestirá de blanco hasta junio de 2025 y disputará su decimotercera temporada tras llegar en el verano de 2012 de la mano de Mourinho.
Con la retirada de Toni Kroos se rompe un binomio de 10 años y Modric se convierte en el último integrante de la CMK que todavía no ha dicho adiós al Real Madrid. Tras muchos meses dando por hecha la salida del croata y la continuidad del alemán, finalmente ha sido Kroos el que se ha marchado y el 10 el que ha renovado un año más.
Su renovación le permite convertirse en el primer capitán del equipo desde que llegó al club hace más de una década. Luka, ‘el fichaje de medio pelo’, suma 534 partidos de blanco, además de 39 goles y 86 asistencias.
Además, Modric tendrá la oportunidad de ampliar un palmarés envidiable: 6 Champions League, 5 Mundiales de Clubes, 5 Supercopas de España, 4 Supercopas de Europa, 4 Ligas y 2 Copas del Rey.
Con 26 títulos en el Madrid, tiene el reto de adelantar a Paco Gento y convertirse, junto a Dani Carvajal, en el futbolista más laureado de la historia de la Copa de Europa con 7 títulos. Empatando así con el AC Milán y superando a clubes como Bayern Múnich o Liverpool.
