El comienzo del centrocampista sevillano en el Betis de Quique Setién

Fabián Ruiz nació en 1996 en Los Palacios y Villafranca, en Sevilla. Se formó como centrocampista e inició su carrera profesional en la temporada 2015-2016; luego de ser ascendido del Betis Deportivo al primer equipo en el conjunto verdiblanco que entrenaba Pepe Mel. Pasó una temporada cedido en el Elche y, de vuelta al Betis, formó parte de la primera plantilla con Quique Setién.

En la capital andaluza, a parte de pasar toda su vida allí, en lo futbolístico Fabián estuvo 3 años (2014/15-2017/18), y media temporada de dicha etapa, la pasó en una cesión con el conjunto ilicitano.

Sobre el Real Betis Balompié, él siempre cuenta que fue, es y será el club de su vida. Se suele acordar mucho sobre todo en ruedas de prensas de su paso desde que era pequeño en las categorías inferiores, hasta el 2018 ya que es su casa y donde para él todo empezó. En suma de todo esto, allí en el Benito Villamarín, el jugón sevillano logró un total de 6 goles y 7 asistencias en 83 partidos que disputó entre el primer y el segundo equipo bético.

La llegada a Italia y su entrada en la élite del fútbol mundial

En el mismo verano en el que salió de España, el Nápoles italiano adquirió los servicios del jugador por 30 millones de euros; un fichaje que se convirtió en la venta más cara del Betis. Con Carlo Ancelotti a los mandos, logró hacerse con la titularidad nada más aterrizar en la ciudad napolitana en su primera temporada. En Nápoles, Fabián Ruíz consiguió asentarse como uno de los mediocentros más preciados y queridos en los clubes más importantes de Europa (uno de ellos fue el Real Madrid), y además de ello, fue llamado en 2019 por el entrenador en ese entonces de la selección española Robert Moreno para ir convocado por primera vez en su carrera con la absoluta.

Desde 2022, milita en las filas del Paris Saint-Germain, donde llegó por 25 millones de euros y en 2 campañas ya ha ganado dos Ligue 1, una Copa de Francia, y una supercopa.

El 26 de mayo, estuvo una vez más en la convocatoria de Luis de la Fuente para representar a España en la Eurocopa 2024.
