Aunque Fernando Alonso ha logrado el segundo y primer puesto en las prácticas de hoy, es necesario interpretar con cautela sus declaraciones. El piloto de Aston Martin enfatiza que, si bien ha sido un día positivo para el equipo de Silverstone, suelen ser más rápidos en los entrenamientos que en la clasificación. Alonso sostiene que su equipo opta por una estrategia diferente, destacando que lo habitual es reservar sus estrategias hasta la sesión clasificatoria, que en este fin de semana es el viernes.
«Me he sentido bien. Son solo entrenamientos libres. Como vimos el año pasado y también en Baréin, somos más rápidos en los entrenamientos libres que en la clasificación. Creo que aplicamos estrategias diferentes, en términos de cargas de combustible, modos de motor…».
Encaminados para el resto del fin de semana
Añadió que no ha habido problemas significativos con el coche y que las opciones de configuración para el día siguiente están abiertas. Reconociendo la competencia ajustada en la clasificación, señala que la optimización de la configuración del monoplaza continuará hasta la tercera sesión libre, indicando que aún hay trabajo por hacer durante la noche.
«Mantenemos nuestro programa adelante. No ha habido realmente ningún problema con el coche. Las posibilidades de configuración también están bastante abiertas para mañana. Pero sí, definitivamente ha sido un buen jueves para nosotros».
Alonso concluye siendo franco sobre el ritmo de carrera de Aston Martin: «Simplemente salimos del coche y tenemos que venir aquí para hablar con vosotros, así que no tengo idea«.
