Creo que es más cosa vuestra. Durante la semana he visto a la gente bien, sabiendo que es un partido complicado. A la hora de analizar tampoco nos hemos puesto ninguna imagen de Copa. Es más el respeto al Athletic y ganas de hacer otro buen partido que recordar cosas del pasado.
El Athletic parece jugar igual año tras año y le da buenos resultados. ¿Cuáles son las claves que puede poner el Mallorca?
Es reconocible porque casi siempre juega igual y los rivales sabemos lo que va a hacer. Luego lo difícil es frenarlo porque lleva un ritmo alto de juego. Creo que tiene buenos jugadores potenciados por un espíritu colectivo y están muy bien dirigidos.
¿Va a haber rotaciones de cara al partido de mañana?
No te puedo responder. Tenemos la idea clara pero hasta mañana no lo veréis.
¿Qué le parece la delantera del Athletic?
Es un equipo que está encontrando el gol con mucha facilidad. Creo que arriba juegue con quién juegue tiene argumentos para hacer gol.
¿Dónde está la clave en un partido entre dos equipos con tantas similitudes?
A los dos nos gusta jugar en campo rival y dependerá de quien se imponga dentro de ese estilo. En este tipo de partidos, el acierto es el que declina la balanza. Espero un partido de ‘toma y daca’, luego el acierto dictaminará.
¿Qué opina de la situación de Samú Costa?
Tiene mucho margen de mejora. Lo bueno es que es muy receptivo y quiere mejorar. No se para en ningún momento y siempre quiere más. También le ha llegado el momento de la selección que es un paso adelante y un estímulo. Pero sabe que todo pasa por hacer bien las cosas aquí. No sé qué pasará con su futuro, pero sí sé que nos va ayudar esta temporada.
¿Qué importancia tiene la solidez defensiva en la evolución del equipo?
Muchísima. Los últimos partidos en casa hemos concedido muy poco al rival y es una de las claves. Para decir que estamos bien a nivel defensivo tenemos que pasar también el test de mañana.
¿Por qué cree que el equipo marca más goles en la segunda parte?
No creo que tenga una razón futbolística. Creo que es más cuestión de acierto.
