El Valencia no pasa del empate en Mestalla ante Osasuna (0-0) en un partido gris en ataque
Los de Baraja suman un punto que les permite salir de puestos de descenso por primera vez en toda la temporada, aunque a la espera de lo que hagan Las Palmas y Getafe. En el Valencia han regresado Fran Pérez, que no jugaba desde el 20 de abril, y Hugo Duro después de sus lesiones.
Sin la fortuna del anterior encuentro
El conjunto valencianista ha vuelto a ser muy pobre ofensivamente y esta vez no ha tenido la suerte del último partido contra el Girona. Dos tiros de fuera del área poco peligrosos rebotaron en un central gironí y acabaron dentro de la portería. Sin esa carambola el enfrentamiento podría haber terminado en tablas, como ha sucedido contra Osasuna.
La única ocasión clara que ha podido tener el Valencia ha estado en los pies de Dani Gómez. Una buena jugada por banda derecha culminaba con un centro raso de Almeida y posterior remate del jugador cedido por el Levante, pero Sergio Herrera realizaba una buena parada con la pierna. El jugador más activo en ataque ha sido Luis Rioja, que lo ha intentado de todas las maneras por la banda izquierda, más con empuje que con calidad en el último pase, pero el equipo sigue siendo muy plano en ataque.
Una nueva portería a cero
El, quizás, único punto positivo del partido es el no haber encajado goles. El equipo poco a poco se va acercando a la versión del Valencia de la temporada pasada. Tárrega y Mosquera comienzan a afianzarse como dupla de centrales y el doble pivote de Barrenechea y Pepelu blinda más el centro del campo. Además, ha sido el partido de la temporada en el que Mamardashvili ha estado menos exigido.
La vuelta del goleador
Hugo Duro ha ingresado al terreno de juego en el minuto 74 y le ha bastado para poner un buen balón a Foulquier, que no ha podido definir con claridad. La importancia del delantero getafense en el Valencia es muy alta. De 40 goles a favor en la pasada campaña, 13 fueron de Hugo Duro. En un equipo que propone poco en ataque y se basa en la seguridad defensiva, es necesario un atacante que pueda desahogar al equipo aguantando el esférico y marcando las pocas ocasiones que tenga.
