Semáforo en verde
Con una hora por delante muy parecida a las condiciones de clasificación y carrera los coches empezaban a salir al circuito. La mayoría de pilotos optaron por neumáticos medios y duros para ir probando configuraciones sobretodo centrado en tanda larga.
Muchos pilotos seguían con los mimos problemas que tenían en los primeros libres, como Lewis Hamilton. El cual sigue arrastrando los problemas de tracción del coche desde Bakú y ahora se lo traen a Asia, donde es algo esencial.
Los Williams que vienen de un muy buen Gran Premio de Bakú también tienen muy buen ritmo y quizás podrían estar como el 5 coche más rápido. Leclerc volvió a marcar el tiempo más rápido, parece que los Ferrari sin duda van a luchar por la pole position.
Los que no se acababan de contra cómodos son los Red Bull aunque sus mayores contingrantes Mclaren parecía esconder cosas.

A 35 minutos para el final mucho de los pilotos empezaron a montar neumáticos blando para ir probando tandas de clasificación. Se empezaban a ver todas las hostilidades, Leclerc pasaba muy cerca de los muros pero no le sirvió para ser primero.
Con 19 minutos por delante muchos cargaron combustible y siguieron ajustando configuraciones. Russell a minutos de acabar la sesión Russell acabó contra el muro pero pudo meter marcha atrás y volver a boxes.
