El Napoli quiere contratar como nuevo director deportivo a Giovanni Manna, que actualmente ocupa ese puesto en la Juve.
El Napoli ya piensa en la siguiente temporada como un año cero. La decepcionante defensa del título por parte de los azzurri, que han tenido tres entrenadores distintos en lo que va de temporada, obliga a la autocrítica en Nápoles. Y ello implicará una multitud de cambios en el equipo, desde la plantilla hasta la dirigencia de la entidad.
La marcha de Cristiano Giuntoli a la Juventus el pasado verano como Director de Fútbol (CFO) dejó huérfana la parcela deportiva del Napoli. El club partenopeo, consciente de ello, está dispuesto a devolver el golpe a la Vecchia Signora a final de temporada. Y es que, tal y como ha adelantado Fabrizio Romano, el Napoli ha elegido a Giovanni Manna como nuevo director deportivo.
Manna trabaja en la Juventus desde 2019, cuando asumió la gestión del sector juvenil. Antes, había dirigido las áreas deportivas de dos clubes suizos: Chiasso y Lugano. Desde el pasado verano ha trabajado en la entidad bianconera en estrecha colaboración con Giuntoli, que lo ascendió al cargo de director deportivo.
El presidente del Napoli, Aurelio de Laurentiis, ya prepara un cargo a 360 grados para Manna. El todavía directivo juventino gozaría de grandes márgenes de maniobra en lo relativo al mercado de fichajes del club campano y a la dirección de su cantera, dada su experiencia en este ámbito. Todo indica a que Manna aceptará la oferta del Napoli en las próximas semanas, relevando así al actual director deportivo, Mauro Meluso.
La llegada de Manna a Nápoles conllevaría algunas consecuencias en la búsqueda de un nuevo entrenador. Como apunta Sky Sport, de confirmarse la contratación de Manna, Vincenzo Italiano ganaría enteros para convertirse en el nuevo entrenador del Napoli. El actual técnico de la Fiorentina ya ha deslizado su adiós a final de temporada, con la pretensión de marcharse de Florencia con un título (Coppa Italia o Conference League) bajo el brazo.
