Los gallegos resolvieron con comodidad un encuentro contra un Estudiantes que se queda sin gasolina

El baloncesto no descansa por Semana Santa. Una nueva jornada en marcha de la LEB Oro, la n.º 26, ha sonreído para Club Ourense Baloncesto, que se ha impuesto a Movistar Estudiantes por 92-71 en un partido que dominó por tramos ante la absoluta pérdida de confianza de los madrileños, que firman su quinta derrota en seis encuentros.

Un reñido primer tiempo

Dos malas rachas y dos aspiraciones diferentes se han visto las caras en el Pazo dos Deportes Paco Paz. Club Ourense Baloncesto, que salió con Zheng, Turner, Kacinas, Jawara y Radic de titulares, tomó la iniciativa desde el comienzo, haciendo olvidar el 24-6 que sufrió de salida el pasado 7 de enero en la capital, en aquel entonces contra otro rival muy distinto.

Movistar Estudiantes, con Wintering, Leimanis, Sola, Murphy y Larsen de inicio, ya sin Carrera, desvinculado de la plantilla, volvería a perder un primer parcial por sexta vez consecutiva (23-17). La desconexión inaugural de cada enfrentamiento continuó hasta el 29-17. A partir de ahí, Ferrando y Leimanis despertaron, el primero exigido ante las tres faltas de Wintering, y los madrileños bajaron de la barrera de los diez puntos. El resultado al descanso fue de 44-40.

El problema de las faltas

El arranque de la segunda parte vino a corroborar la reacción de los colegiales en el partido. Ferrando y Larsen siguieron sumando buenos minutos en pista, con el danés camino del doble doble (12 pts. y 8 reb.), y Estudiantes mandó en el acumulado por primera vez 26 minutos después (52-55).

Sin embargo, la tendencia cambió al borde del cierre del tercer período, cuando Ferrando, que registraba 12 puntos, 4 asistencias y un +/- positivo (+4), cometió la cuarta personal. La orden de sentar al base valenciano fue un quebradero de cabeza para los suyos, que encajaron un 12-0 definitivo gracias a las aportaciones de Jawara, Peter-McNeilly y Turner, este último con un triple sobre la bocina desde más allá del 6,75m. De esta forma, el marcador reflejaría un igualado 64-57 previo a la recta final.

Los locales se quedan solos

En el desenlace, Turner sacó la ‘manita’ a pasear y los hoy vestidos de amarillo no encontraron a quien darle el balón. A falta de 5′ 00″, la diferencia era de 10 puntos (72-62) y sería doblada ante la incomparecencia de Movistar Estudiantes, una vez más, cuando más necesitado está. El MVP fue para el escolta norteamericano que, con 24 puntos y 58% de acierto en los tiros (TCC: 10/17), lideró una victoria por 92-71 que pone a los orensanos a tiro de los Playoffs de ascenso.

Club Ourense Baloncesto (12-14) volverá a enfrentarse a un equipo madrileño, esta vez Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (9-17), en el Fernando Martín, el Viernes Santo (29 de marzo) a las 21h.

Movistar Estudiantes (18-8) regresará al WiZink Center 28 días después para medirse a TAU Castelló (6-19*) el Domingo de Resurrección (31 de marzo) a las 18:30h.
