El español llega tras un exitoso 2025.
La escudería Prema ha hecho oficial el fichaje de Mari Boya para su equipo de Fórmula 2 en 2026. El español viene de firmar un gran año en 2025 en Fórmula 3 y dará el salto a la categoría de plata el próximo año.
Esta temporada, el catalán ha terminado de despuntar con la tercera posición en la clasificación de F3. Tras dos años anteriores donde el ritmo estaba ahí, pero no era capaz de juntarlo todo, 2025 ha sido la demostración del gran rendimiento de Boya. Además, ha cerrado el año con el subcampeonato en el Gran Premio de Macao, carrera en la que rozó, e incluso mereció, la victoria.
Su carrera en monoplazas comenzó en 2020, después de conseguir varios títulos en karting. Su debut fue en la F4 española donde fue subcampeón como rookie. Mari también ha competido en Eurocup-3 destacando su año 2023, en el que fue subcampeón con una ronda menos que su rival por el título. Además, también ha disputado alguna temporada en formulas regionales antes de dar el salto a Fórmula 3 en 2023.
Tras un año de adaptación a la categoría, y un 2024 complicado en el que su objetivo era luchar por el título y estuvo lejos, 2025 no empezaba mucho mejor, aunque fue capaz de darle la vuelta. Desde mitad de año Mari ha sido el piloto que más puntos ha sacado, firmando varios podios y una victoria. Sus mejores actuaciones han sido después del anuncio de su fichaje por la academia de Aston Martin, algo que ha podido afectarle en el principio de año.
“Estoy súper emocionado por unirme a PREMA para mi temporada de debut en la FIA Fórmula 2 y trabajar con el equipo. Siento que tengo una gran oportunidad y tengo muchas ganas de ver cómo van las cosas. Me entusiasma especialmente tener carreras más largas que en la F3, que me encantan, y también tener que lidiar con paradas en boxes y el desgaste de los neumáticos. Esperemos una buena temporada”, ha comentado el joven piloto español.
