El equipo Campos Racing ha confirmado que Nikola Tsolov será uno de sus pilotos para la temporada de Fórmula 2 de 2026. Es el segundo confirmado de la categoría para la próxima temporada después de que AIX Racing anunciara a Emmo Fittipaldi.
El júnior de Red Bull da el salto a la F2 tras tres años en la categoría de bronce. Esta temporada ha conseguido el subcampeonato con 2 victorias y 4 podios, ayudando además a Campos a coronarse como campeón de Constructores por primera vez en su historia.
No obstante, su debut en un monoplaza de F2 será este mismo año en los test de final de temporada en Abu Dabi, según ha confirmado Campos Racing.
“Estoy muy feliz de poder continuar mi carrera deportiva al siguiente paso lógico como es FIA Formula 2 y además de la mano de Campos Racing una vez más. Hemos trabajado conjuntamente tanto F4 Spain como FIA Formula 3 y hemos ganado en ambos campeonatos, lo que sin duda me da la máxima confianza de cara al año próximo. Estamos un paso más cerca del sueño y voy a intentarlo con más ahínco que nunca para alcanzar los mejores resultados posibles”, ha comentado el “León búlgaro”.
Por otro lado, Adrián Campos, jefe del equipo Campos, ha hablado sobre el ascenso de Tsolov: “Estamos muy orgullosos de poder seguir trabajando un año más con Nikola, un piloto que se puede decir que es nuestro porque dio sus primeros pasos en monoplazas con Campos Racing. En los dos años que ha pilotado uno de nuestros monoplazas ha sido campeón y subcampeón, lo que sin duda son excelentes credenciales de su talento”.
“Un monoplaza de Formula 2 es, por supuesto, otro nivel. Pero, pese a su juventud, es un piloto que ya aglutina una gran experiencia en monoplazas, está dotado de una gran madurez y estamos seguros de que va a dejar su impronta también en FIA Formula 2”, ha añadido Adrián Campos.
