El fichaje de Javi Muñoz ya es oficial. El centrocampista que llevaba tiempo en la órbita azulona, aterriza finalmente en el Coliseum para incorporarse al proyecto de José Bordalás.
El club anunciaba su incorporación en la mañana del 4 de julio, convirtiéndose, por el momento en el último fichaje azulón. El Getafe se está moviendo rápido en el mercado, para planificar cuanto antes la plantilla de cara al inicio liguero.

El jugador madrileño, de 30 años, se convierte en el sexto fichaje del club azulón. Llega libre tras finalizar su contrato con la UD Las Palmas y firma por las próximas tres temporadas.
Javi Muñoz se formó en la Escuela Polideportivo Parla entre el 2001 y 2006, antes de incorporarse a la cantera del Real Madrid, donde permaneció hasta 2014. En su etapa como juvenil, logró conseguir la División de Honor y la Copa de Campeones Juveniles en la 13-14, llegó hasta el filial y debutó con el primer equipo en un partido de Copa del Rey.
Posteriormente, acumuló experiencia en Segunda División con el Lorca FC jugando 35 partidos y anotando 5 goles. Tras fichar por el Alavés, encadenó varias cesiones a equipos como el Mirandés, Oviedo y Tenerife.
En verano de 2021 firmó por la SD Eibar, donde disputa 75 partidos y consigue encontrar una estabilidad. Dos años después dio el salto a Primera División con la UD Las Palmas, siendo una pieza clave en el equipo insular.
Esta temporada pasará a formar parte del conjunto azulón, sumando un refuerzo de experiencia para el esquema de José Bordalás. El futbolista cuenta con una gran experiencia en el fútbol profesional con un total 190 partidos en Segunda División y 73 en Primera División, donde ha anotado 3 goles y repartido 6 asistencias. En su última temporada en primera fue uno de los grandes destacados del equipo.
