El Real Oviedo Vetusta continúa reforzándose de cara a su proyecto deportivo en la Segunda RFEF, y su última incorporación es Francisco de Asís “Curro” Muñoz Verano (22 años). Este joven mediocentro, natural de Jerez de la Frontera, llega con experiencia, físico y visión de juego, encajando en el modelo del filial azul.
Perfil y trayectoria
Formado en la estructura del Cádiz, debutó con el filial (Cádiz CF Mirandilla) en la temporada 2021/22, donde fue ganando minutos hasta consolidarse como una pieza habitual en el doble pivote. En el curso 2022/23 incluso llegó a entrar en dinámica del primer equipo gaditano, aunque sin debut oficial.
Durante la temporada 2023/24 alternó entre el Cádiz B y una breve cesión a la SD Logroñés, donde sumó minutos en Primera RFEF. Su rendimiento más estable llegó en el Salamanca UDS, con quien disputó 29 partidos en la 2024/25, firmando un gol y afianzándose como titular en la Segunda RFEF.
Estilo de juego y encaje con Roberto Aguirre
Curro es un centrocampista de corte equilibrado, con capacidad para adaptarse a diferentes sistemas y necesidades del equipo. Diestro, de buen físico (1,85 m) y con lectura táctica, destaca especialmente en contextos donde puede compartir el centro del campo con otro mediocentro, ya sea en un 4-4-2 como en un 4-2-3-1.
No es un jugador que brille por estadísticas ofensivas, pero sí por su inteligencia posicional, su capacidad para dar continuidad al juego y su compromiso en fase defensiva. Tiene buena conducción en salida, criterio con balón, y es eficaz cerrando líneas de pase. No se desordena, no se precipita y rara vez pierde la posición.
En el Vetusta encaja como pieza de equilibrio, ideal para sostener a compañeros más creativos o verticales. Su experiencia en categorías exigentes como Segunda RFEF y su madurez pese a la juventud lo convierten en un perfil útil tanto en la base de la jugada como en labores de contención.

El club anunció esta semana la continuidad de Roberto Aguirre al frente del banquillo del filial azul la próxima temporada, un movimiento que va de la mano con los primeros pasos en la confección de la plantilla. Hasta la fecha, el Vetusta ha confirmado tres incorporaciones: el centrocampista Francisco «Curro» Muñoz, procedente del Salamanca UDS; el centrocampista Guille Berzal, que llega desde el Rayo Majadahonda; y Diego Espinosa, central sub-21 con formación en la cantera del Huesca. Tres perfiles jóvenes y complementarios que apuntalan el inicio de un proyecto que busca dar continuidad al bloque y seguir creciendo en Segunda RFEF.
