Con la resaca emocional de lo vivido estos días y comenzando, poco a poco, a asimilarlo, me aventuro a escribir estas líneas más personales. Lo acontecido en Oviedo ha sido el sueño de todas las generaciones, pero creo que, en particular, de aquellos nacidos en el siglo XXI, que no habían visto nunca a su equipo en Primera División.
Personalmente, considero que el verdadero crecimiento, más allá de lo futbolístico, ahonda en lo social. Ver una ciudad volcada con su equipo y cada vez a más gente joven con la camiseta de nuestro club es, para mí, el auténtico triunfo. Pertenecemos a una generación que ha crecido a la sombra de los grandes clubes y del Sporting de Gijón. En mi caso particular, ser del Real Oviedo en el colegio —en una ciudad como Avilés— era poco menos que ser un bicho raro.
Cerrando un círculo personal
Mi historia personal comienza un 31 de mayo de 2015. Aquel día, el Real Oviedo volvía al fútbol profesional de la mano de David Fernández… o, mejor dicho, de su cabeza. Podría recordar otras citas ilustres en la historia de nuestro querido Real Oviedo: algunas alegres y mágicas, como el ascenso en Ávila; otras tristes, como el descenso en Mallorca.
Considero que debía comenzar por el momento que marcó mi historia personal con el Oviedo. Mientras escribo esto, recuerdo con alegría aquella entrada que me compró mi padre para ver a Cervero cabecear a la red y hacer su “ejercicio físico” diario en aquella mítica celebración. Mi padre, aficionado azul desde adolescente y socio durante los gloriosos años 90, había dejado en cuarentena su abono durante mucho tiempo, a raíz de la gestión nefasta de unos individuos difíciles de calificar. Alberto se llama mi progenitor, y Alberto se llamaba también el hombre que le hizo perder la ilusión por el Oviedo. Siempre recordaré esa frase que tantas veces repetía: “Yo, para darle dinero a ese y que me lo robe, prefiero gastarlo en otras cosas”.
Yo no creo que mi padre sea un mal oviedista, ni mucho menos. Tengo que decir que durante muchos años le reproché esos tiempos en los que, en cierta medida, abandonó a su club. Pero ¿quién soy yo para quejarme, teniendo en cuenta que no fue hasta aquel 31 de mayo de 2015 que abracé verdaderamente a mi club, al Real Oviedo?
Lo que es el fútbol… la ilusión que puede despertar en una persona. Es, sin duda, el deporte más mágico que existe. Desde aquel día no he dejado de ir al Carlos Tartiere. Subimos, claro, y de qué manera. Recuerdo la celebración en la Plaza de América y, sobre todo, cómo Oviedo se tiñó de azul y recuperó ese espíritu.
El círculo se cerró para mí volviendo a la plaza del ayuntamiento 10 años después, con el recuerdo también de aquel día en el que viví de cerca el calor de la plantilla y dónde de verdad me enamore de todo esto.
