El ‘Soldado Ryan’ está de vuelta

Ryan Sessegnon consiguió marcar el gol que le dio la victoria al Fulham frente al Southampton y ya son tres goles y dos asistencias en los últimos siete encuentros. Ha dejado atrás los problemas con las lesiones y vuelve a ser importante sobre el terreno de juego.

Ryan Sessegnon está volviendo a disfrutar del fútbol. El que fuera nombrado en 2018 Jugador del Año de la Championship, tras protagonizar una gran temporada con el Fulham, ha superado sus problemas con las lesiones y vuelve a tener continuidad sobre el terreno de juego a las órdenes de Marco Silva. En los últimos siete encuentros ha marcado tres goles y dado dos pases de gol desde la banda derecha o partiendo como lateral izquierdo.

Llegado esta temporada desde el Tottenham a coste cero donde no pudo tener continuidad debido a las lesiones, Ryan Sessegnon está volviendo a jugar con regularidad. A principio de temporada, debido al inmenso rendimiento de Antonee Robinson en ese lateral izquierdo, fue difícil para el inglés encontrar un puesto en el once titular. Comenzó a sumar minutos en las copas y a entrar de suplente por alguno de los extremos para jugar con un doble lateral. Con el paso del tiempo, se ha mostrado fiable por la banda derecha y ha redescubierto su olfato goleador, marcando a grandes rivales como el Liverpool o el Tottenham y cosechando victorias en ambos partidos.

Infierno con las lesiones

La temporada 2017/2018 de Ryan Sessegnon solo está a la altura de los mejores futbolistas. Cuando contaba con apenas 17 años, el lateral fue uno de los mejores jugadores del Fulham, logrando el ascenso a Premier y obteniendo el ‘POTY’ y el ‘PFA Young Player of the Year’ (Premio al Mejor Jugador Joven de la Temporada). Nada menos que 15 goles y seis asistencias en Championship y jugando como lateral izquierdo. La siguiente temporada en Premier League no fue tan buena y el Fulham no logró la permanencia, sin embargo, el Tottenham puso sobre la mesa 27 ‘kilos’ para que Ryan continuara en la máxima división inglesa.

Con los Spurs comenzaron los problemas. Pasó casi 600 días fuera de los terrenos de juego debido a las lesiones, contando con una operación de isquiotibiales y varios problemas en el muslo que no le permitieron seguir jugando al fútbol. Un breve paso por el Hoffenheim ayudó al jugador a sentirse cómodo sobre el césped (disputó 29 partidos), pero cuando volvió a Londres, se encontró sin sitio en el equipo de Antonio Conte por aquel entonces.

Después de cinco temporadas y 57 encuentros con el Tottenham, Ryan Seseggnon regresó al Fulham para volver a sentir esas ‘mariposillas’ sobre el terreno de juego y ha vuelto a encandilar a sus aficionados y a Marco Silva.
