Por primera vez en la historia, la WWE celebrará un programa en directo en España el próximo mes de marzo

Hace un par de semanas se confirmó una gran noticia para los seguidores españoles de la lucha libre. Y es que la WWE confirmó, no solo su regreso a España, sino que además emitirá un programa de SmackDown en directo. Esto es un hito histórico, pues nunca antes había sucedido.

Para los más fanáticos es una oportunidad tremenda de ver a sus superestrellas favoritas en acción, pero también para los más nostálgicos de reengancharse a un deporte que, si bien ha perdido emoción y popularidad, sigue tan vivo como siempre.

Actualmente ya no están los Undertaker, Big Show, Batista o Edge, y no se muestra tanta sangre o pirotecnia, pero todavía quedan leyendas en activo como los míticos Randy Orton o Rey Mysterio. Ahora, la empresa se encuentra en una etapa donde nuevas estrellas están brillando. A los más desconectados les costará reconocer a Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Liv Morgan, y compañía.

Mucha gente, desde el puro desconocimiento, argumenta que «la WWE es falsa»; «no se pegan de verdad»; y demás comentarios. Lo cierto es que no es falsa. Ni es teatro, ni es de mentira. Se trata de una lucha coreografiada, donde si bien forma parte de un show guionizado, los golpes son reales. Porque, al fin y al cabo, los luchadores son atletas, y eso no cambia si antes de comenzar la pelea ya saben si van a ganar o perder.

Buena etapa para reengancharse a la WWE

Si bien muchos seguidores se han quedado en el camino, otros se mantienen como consumidores habituales de los contenidos de la WWE. Esto es, en parte, gracias a plataformas y creadores de contenido que, no solo tratan de mantener informados a los seguidores, sino que además han conseguido reenganchar a muchas personas que dejaron de seguir la actividad de la empresa.

A raíz de la pérdida de los derechos de televisión por parte de Atresmedia, muchos fanáticos abandonaron el producto, que nunca ha dejado de existir. Es cierto que, en cuanto ha calidad, no es lo que era, pero al menos no ha dejado de ser. Y ahora, en España, es una grandísima oportunidad de captar nuevos espectadores por múltiples razones.

Por ejemplo, Axiom, luchador español con un enorme talento que, además, es campeón por parejas de la marca NXT. También por la llegada de Netflix a partir de 2025, que va a suponer un cambio muy significativo a la hora de consumir la WWE.

Una nueva oportunidad con Netflix

A pesar de que el contenido ya no tiene nombres legendarios, ni tanta calidad, la llegada de Netflix puede marcar un antes y un después. Y es que, según se marca en la plataforma, los contenidos pasarán a ser «más adultos», con el fin de llegar a más público y volver a ser, en cierta medida, lo que era. Esto sumado a que será más sencillo seguir de cerca la actividad de la empresa.

Este hecho puede suponer que antiguos y nuevos seguidores se unan a los ya habituales. Y la comunidad de WWE hispanohablante crezca hasta niveles sin precedentes. Es cierto que el producto estuvo cerca de regresar allá por 2020, pero la pandemia trastocó los planes.
