Empieza la recta final de la temporada en las calles de Las Vegas, donde McLaren y Ferrari tendrán la primera de las tres batallas por el Mundial de Constructores

En tan solo tres semanas la temporada de Fórmula 1 de 2024 dirá adiós. Seguramente será recordada por su competitividad, ausente en los últimos años bajo la dominancia de Red Bull, y por la incertidumbre que se ha generado hasta el final. En Las Vegas Max Verstappen tendrá la oportunidad de ser tetracampeón Mundial y la lucha entre Ferrari, que el año pasado consiguió que uno de sus pilotos estuviese en el podio, y McLaren está más abierta que nunca.

¿Cómo es el circuito de Las Vegas?

En el circuito de Las Vegas resaltan, sobre todo, las rectas. Las dos principales cuentan con DRS, así que los coches con más velocidad punta se lucirán en estos puntos del trazado. También serán interesantes las curvas cerradas, como la 1, o la chicane de la 14 y 15. El control del coche será imprescindible para afrontar la curvas 5 y la chicane del sector tres, pues para ese entonces los pilotos tendrán el DRS abierto y deberán frenar. También, al ser una pista urbana, los monoplazas recorrerán calles icónicas y pasarán al lado de localizaciones famosas de la ciudad. Una parte del circuito forma parte de The Strip, la avenida más famosa de Las Vegas, y edificios como las Sphere, el hotel Wynn Casino, la Torre Campanile, las fuentes del Bellagio y el volcán Mirage serán parte del paisaje.

Los pilotos van a ir a fondo en gran parte del trazado y muchos monoplazas llevan la unidad de potencia en las últimas. La carrera constará de 50 vueltas de 6,12km (305.880 km en total) y la vuelta rápida la consiguió Oscar Piastri la temporada pasada con un tiempo de 1:35.490.

El asfalto nuevo y las bajas temperaturas no serán una buena combinación para los neumáticos. A pesar de que Pirelli haya optado por llevar la gama de gomas más blandas (C3 para duros, C4 para medios y C5 para blandos), se espera que el calentamiento de las ruedas vaya a ser difícil y que haya bastante graining. Habrá baja carga aerodinámica por las características del circuito y poco grip en la pista. Las presiones para las rudas delanteras son de 28.0psi y de las traseras de 26.0psi.

Le acompañaron Charles Leclerc y Sergio Pérez. El mexicano volvió a perder una lucha en la vuelta final del Gran Premio, como había pasado anteriormente en Interlagos con Alonso. Tras haber estado en segundo lugar durante un buen tiempo, en la última zona de DRS Leclerc lo adelantó.
