Ruanda está preparando un proyecto para entrar al calendario en 2029.
Turquía está negociando con la Fórmula 1 para entrar en las próximas temporadas.
La Fórmula 1 está en un proceso de ajustar el calendario de cara a los próximos años. Las numerosas renovaciones, la idea del calendario rotatorio y la recién incorporación de Portimao está siendo la confirmación de este proceso. En este contexto, nuevos circuitos se están interesando y proyectos como el de Ruanda y Turquía podrían entrar al calendario en las próximas temporadas.
Ruanda
La Fórmula 1 lleva tiempo en viajar a África para realizar un Gran Premio. Se hablaba de Kyalami y de Sudáfrica, y ahora Ruanda también está preparando un proyecto de cara a 2029.
El plan de Ruanda es desarrollar una nueva ciudad a partir de la construcción de un nuevo aeropuerto y el gobernante Jean-Guy Afrika pretende entrar en el calendario de Fórmula 1 como estrategia de desarrollo del país.
“Estamos en la carrera para posiblemente acoger un evento de Fórmula 1 aquí en 2029. Queremos usar el aeropuerto como una oportunidad para desarrollar casi una nueva ciudad. El circuito que querríamos construir, toda una idea de facilidades recreacionales, porque a la Fórmula 1 la gente viene sobre todo para entretenerse y es sólo una semana”, ha declarado Afrika en una entrevista con The Athletics.
“El aeropuerto se desarrollará y las negociaciones con la Fórmula 1 incluirán el circuito. La Fórmula 1 es un deporte de gran interés para nosotros, incluso más allá del circuito, en términos de lo que podemos hacer en el futuro. Prestadnos atención porque quizá haya algunas sorpresas agradables en un futuro cercano”, ha añadido el gobernante de Ruanda.
Turquía
Turquía está negociando con la Fórmula 1 para que el Estambul Park vuelva al calendario. La última vez que se corrió allí fue en 2021 con motivo del covid 19.
La Fórmula 1 pidió que se modernizaran las instalaciones para que Turquía volviera al calendario, y ya estarían listos para albergar un gran premio tan pronto como en 2026. Sin embargo, el próximo año el calendario está cerrado y confirmado, pero parece que el Estambul Park será uno de los suplentes por si otro gran premio falla.
De momento, hay optimismo para su regreso. Los rumores dicen que habría un contrato de 5 años de por medio, aunque se desconoce cuando empezará. Otra de las dudas será si volverá de forma permanente o entrará en rotación con otros circuitos.
Está siendo un postemporada intenso, con numerosos rumores de cara a la próxima temporada, pilotos, directivos, motores y ahora circuitos ocupan los titulares antes de ni siquiera empezar el año 2026.
