El UCAM Murcia consigue su tercera victoria en la Liga Endesa ante Baskonia liderado por un gran David DeJulius que acabó como máximo anotador (25 puntos).
Primera Parte
Los primeros compases del encuentro tuvieron a un Toni Nakic que salió con la flechita para arriba primero con un triple y luego provocando una falta de 3 tiros libres de los cuales solo pudo anotar 2. Baskonia encontró sus primeros puntos en una entrada a canasta totalmente sola de Rafa Villar y en el primer cuarto se puso por delante con el 8-9 con una canasta de Diakité.
A partir de ahí, los azulgrana evitaron en todo momento que el UCAM Murcia despegase en el marcador pese a que los murcianos tuvieron ventajas de 4-5 puntos que perfectamente pudieron ampliarlas. Al final del primer cuarto el UCAM mandaba 26-21 con DeJulius, Forrest y Nakic como los más destacados.
Al minuto y medio de arrancar el segundo cuarto, Baskonia paró el partido ya que el UCAM Murcia se ponía ya 9 arriba en el marcador (32-23). Unos minutos después, el conjunto de Sito Alonso fue el que solicitó tiempo muerto ya que los vitorianos apretaron hasta ponerse a 5 puntos (32-27).
Gracias a la dirección de juego de David DeJulius y el estar acertado durante varias fases del cuarto, el UCAM Murcia dio un estirón importante para irse al descanso ganando 49-38 ante un Baskonia que si no se acercó más a su rival fue por el mal porcentaje desde el triple (1-5: 20%).
Segunda Parte
A diferencia de la primera parte, Baskonia anotó de 3 en su primer intento en el tercer cuarto para contestar a un triple anterior de David DeJulius. El base americano lideró la anotación del UCAM en los primeros minutos de una segunda parte en la que se vio un señor mate tras robo de Sander Raieste que levantó a los espectadores del Palacio de Los Deportes de Murcia (58-45). Con otros 5 puntos más, el UCAM Murcia consiguió la máxima renta del choque con 18 puntos (63-45) que al final del tercer cuarto se quedó en tan solo 6 puntos tras un parcial de 5-17 de Baskonia (68-62).
El último acto del choque arrancó con 4 puntos seguidos de Emmanuel Cate que devolvían una ventaja de dobles dígitos para el UCAM que no volvió a tener a falta de 2:28 después de que Dylan Ennis fuese con todo a canasta dejando a Simmons en el suelo doliéndose de un golpe (86-75). Pese a un último parcial de 3-9, Baskonia llegó demasiado tarde y pagó muy cara su irregularidad durante gran parte del partido (89-84).
