Espérance 0-3 Chelsea: «The Blues» se quedan con la clasificación

Chelsea vence a Espérance por 0-3 con goles de Adarabioyo, Delap y George, para así quedarse con la clasificación a los octavos del Mundial de Clubes.

Primer tiempo

El balón comenzó a rodar en el Lincoln Financial Field a los pies de Nkunku, que lo cedió a su guardameta para un potente despeje buscando a sus delanteros. El conjunto inglés durante el inicio del encuentro era quien controlaba la posesión aunque sin poner en riesgo al rival. Al 3′ aconteció el primer córner para el equipo londinense gracias a un afortunado rebote en la defensa del equipo de Tunés. El primer aviso de Chelsea fue engracias al remate de Delap al centro de Dewsbury-Hall. La respuesta de Espérance no se hizo esperar y rápidamente se plantaron frente al arco rival, aunque un buen cierre de Malo Gusto eliminó cualquier peligro.

Al 5′ los tunesinos lograron acercarse más al arco rival, sin embargo pases erróneos y buenos cierres de la defensa anularon cualquier opción ofensiva. 2 minutos más tarde Madueke intento el centro hacía Delap, que fue bloqueado por la línea defensiva rival. Ante un buen despeje, el equipo africano rápidamente busco un contragolpe, que nuevamente cortó el lateral brasileño. Tras unos minutos de ida y vuelta, eran los ingleses quienes trataban de imponer su juego de posesión. Por parte de Espérance, esperaban pacientemente una pérdida de balón para lanzarse como cohetes en un contragolpe.

Pasados ya 11 minutos el equipo de Túnez pudo tener su primera posesión larga, con la cual poco a poco orillaban a Chelsea a replegarse a su área, aunque un mal pase culminó en una falta a Enzo, en la que el silbante señaló una infracción favorable a »The Blues». Tras la reanudación después de la falta seguía siendo el equipo inglés aquel que dominaba el balón. La posesión londinense culminó con un tiro a puerta de Liam Delap, que casi no exigió a Ben Said. Madueke era el elemento más peligroso en el equipo campeón de Conference y los defensas, al verse superados, únicamente podían detenerlo con golpes.

Enzo al 18′ cobró un tiro libre generado por una falta hacia Madueke, dicho centro se mantuvo como un intento estéril a causa de una buena salida del guardameta rival. Tan solo 1 minuto más tarde, Badiashille cometió una infantil falta a Jabri, quien se encontraba solo, regalando así un tiro libre, que contrario a lo que quería Espérance no causo peligro alguno en el arco. El equipo de Túnez se salvo en última instancia gracias a un heróico despeje de su capitán a un remate de Dewsbury-Hall. Fue él mismo quien evitó un pase a profundidad que tenía destino hacia Delap, protegiendo así su arco a toda costa.

El arquero Ben Said provocó terror en su equipo, al 23′ se tumbó en el suelo alegando una lesión, aunque afortunadamente para su causa no fue nada grave. Chelsea en fase defensiva estaba muy nervioso y las continuas faltas que realizaban eran prueba de aquello. La marca férrea de Acheampong logró evitar que Mokwana se escapará por el carril exterior izquierdo y así al 27′ devolvió la posesión a su equipo. La recuperación del equipo inglés culminó en una falta cometida por el capitán, Meriah, quien contrario a sus acciones previas, derribo con una falta a Delap en las afueras del área. Así, Dewsbury-Hall tuvo en sus pies un tiro libre de gran peligro, sin embargo el mediocampista inglés únicamente le regalo el balón al arquero rival.

La respuesta tunesina fue inmediata y tras un corte de Adarabioyo este regaló un tiro de esquina, el cual gracias a que Espérance no remataba seguía sin poner en riesgo el marco protegido por Jörgensen. Después de esta acción, al 32′, el silbante argentino señaló que era momento del «Cooling Break». La reanudación sucedió 2 minutos más tarde con un balón a tierra favorable a Chelsea, que tras una serie de pases encontró en profundidad a Delap, quien continuó con el adelantamiento «blue». Este terminó en un córner más para el equipo inglés, que al fin puso en peligro el arco de Ben Said, que dejó un rebote el cual el ‘9’ ex-Ipswich, solo frente al arco, envió a las gradas.

Pasados ya 37 minutos, la falta de ideas en ofensiva de Chelsea era clara, ya que no encontraba espacios ni desbordes gracias a destellos individuales. Un mal servicio de Malo Gusto al 38′ fue prueba ferviente de dicha falta de creatividad. Espérance mantenía sus ideas claras, compactamiento y repliegue correcto con el fin de cortar circuitos rivales. Las nulas variaciones ofensivas y una defensa que, como muralla, rebotaba todo ataque rival, propiciaban una tónica de partido en la que pocos acontecimientos se podían relatar.

La posesión de los ingleses era totalmente estéril hasta que Madueke regateó a Ben Ali al 43′ para intentar encontrar a su delantero. El servicio del extremo inglés quedo en nada gracias a otro buen corte de la defensa de Espérance. 5 minutos fueron los agregados por el cuerpo arbitral y dieron inicio con un intento de ofensiva tunesina. Un mal pase causo un contragolpe de Chelsea, el cual Enzo Fernández con un remate potente envió hacia arriba del arco protegido por Ben Said.

El equipo sangre y oro, que no había cometido faltas infantiles, cometió el gran error de hacerlo a solo 3 minutos del fin del primer tiempo. El mediocampista argentino colocó un servicio preciso hacia Adarabioyo, quien remató totalmente solo y envió el balón al fondo de la red para así marcar el 0-1. Únicamente 2 minutos después, Liam Delap marcó el 0-2 a pase de Enzo Fernández ante una defensa de Espérance que no pudo hacer nada. Con la ventaja para Chelsea por 2 goles, ambos equipos se marchaban al medio tiempo. Los tunesinos, con una bronca visible, sabían que la posible clasificación se les estaba escapando de las manos, mientras que para el equipo londinense sabían que tenían que mantener o aumentar la ventaja para sellar su 2do lugar.

Segundo tiempo

El segundo periodo comenzó con la posesión para un Espérance que era consciente de su necesidad de anotar 3 goles para clasificar a la siguiente fase. El equipo sangre y oro rápidamente busco llevar el balón hacía el arco rival, aunque velozmente perdieron el esférico. Al 50′ Nkunku reclamó un penal que parecía evidente, sin embargo el silbante decidió, de forma correcta, no señalar nada. Enzo se encontró cerca de marcar el tercer gol en el partido, pero Ben Ali atajó con un buen manotazo su disparo.

Un desabrido Espérance no podía causar peligro en el arco rival, sus 0 tiros a puerta en 60 minutos eran reflejo de lo anterior. Por el lado de Chelsea, ante una marca que ya era más débil se encontraba más fácilmente con ocasiones para aumentar la renta en el marcador. Los ingleses defendían su ventaja minimizando riesgos, con posesiones largas y sucesiones de pases muy duraderas, frente a un equipo rival que no lograba arrebatarles el esférico.

Madueke al 63′ generó con sus regates otra pelota detenida y fue él mismo quien tras el cobro, desde una posición franca y frontal no disparó correctamente y envió el balón hacia las afueras del campo. Espérance no encontraba una forma de responder, ni desde lo físico, lo anímico o lo futbolístico, en ningún momento adelantaron líneas o buscaron cambiar su plan de juego. El trámite de juego dejaba en claro que la esperanza de los tunesinos únicamente se quedó en su nombre.

Espérance únicamente causo peligro hasta el 69′ con una serie de pases que tras un centro de Ben Hmida se esfumó como el humo de las bengalas. La ráfaga de iluminación de Chelsea en el agregado, con la que se adelantaron en el marcador, les permitía llevar el trámite del partido al ritmo que ellos quisieran. Al 74′ Rodrigues dejaba en claro, con una mala decisión, que el partido a falta de 15 minutos y agregado estaba decantado totalmente para «The Blues». Dos minutos más tarde, tras un desafortunado contacto en la mano del capitán sangre y oro, el silbante señaló penal para el equipo inglés. El árbitro argentino, Yael Falcón Pérez, esperaba que el VAR resolviera la polémica acción por él, tras él mismo tener que ir a revisar jugada, decidió anular su decisión.

Al 80′ tras la tardada revisión, el silbante señaló que era momento de la segunda y última pausa de hidratación. 4 minutos más tarde, Espérance tuvo un tiro libre con el que pudo limpiar su gris partido, sin embargo el servicio se marcho directamente hasta la línea de fondo.  El último cuarto de hora comenzó con exactamente el mismo trámite de todo el segundo tiempo y se agregaron 7 minutos. Apenas señalado el tiempo agregado Marc Guiu pudo anotar el 0-3, sin embargo un gran achique del portero rival evitó que su disparo se introdujera en su arco.

George fue el anotador del 0-3 con un remate que encontró la colaboración del portero rival. El encuentro, definido en 2 momentos de lúcidez, se dio por concluido con un marcador con 3 goles de ventaja favorable a «The Blues». Este resultado posicionó a Chelsea como el 2do lugar del Grupo D, sentenciando que se enfrentaría a Benfica en la siguiente fase.
