Muriqi adelantó a los locales nada más empezar el encuentro. Los locales asediaron a los canarios durante toda la primera mitad. El Mallorca entra en la séptima posición.
El RCD Mallorca logra los primeros tres puntos de la temporada tras derrotar a la UD Las Palmas en la tarde de hoy. Son Moix se ilusionan con Europa al estar en la séptima posición. En cambio, los canarios se encuentran cuartos por la cola. LaLiga EA Sports se pone al rojo vivo en esta jornada 24.
La primera clara del partido llegó por parte de los amarillos. Un desajuste en la defensa bermellona permitió a McBurnie ponerle en bandeja a Javi Muñoz un dos contra uno ante Valjent. El incombustible mediocentro regateó al central y disparó. Dominik Greif detuvo el golpeo. Tres minutos después, Muriqi anotaría por segunda jornada consecutiva. Tras un centro perfecto de Dani Rodríguez, el kosovar atacó el primer palo para abrir el marcador. Con este tanto, igualaría a Larin como máximo goleador del equipo en esta temporada. Los canarios no se vinieron abajo y siguieron afrontando el partido como desde el principio.
A la media hora, un centro de Mojica rematado por Muriqi pondría de cara el partido a los baleares con el 2-0. Es verdad que Cillessen pudo hacer algo más, pero el punta remató completamente solo en el área. El partido se complicó mucho para Las Palmas, que desde el segundo tanto no llevó a cabo un buen planteamiento. Esto provocó que el Mallorca se viniera arriba y aprovechara para anotar el tercero, obra de Dani Rodríguez. Un mal despeje de Enzo Loiodice dejó el balón muerto al borde del área para que el capitán anotase el primer de su cuenta particular con un maravilloso golpeo. El francés acabó siendo sustituido antes del final de la primera mitad.
En el segundo tiempo la dinámica cambió. Además, Diego Martínez sacó del campo a Álex Suárez para dar entrada a Pelmard. UD Las Palmas pudo salir del área y subir al campo rival, aunque no lograron materializar ninguna de sus ocasiones.
Muriqi pudo lograr su primer hat-trick de la temporada tras un roto del delantero al escocés McKenna, aunque la madera evitó el cuarto. A la hora de juego, Stefan Bajčetić le dio vida al partido anotando el 3-1 con una gran volea. El míster gallego intentó enchufar a los suyos tras verse con posibilidades.
El Mallorca bajó el ritmo en comparación con los primeros 45 minutos. Todo se calmó mucho más y no hubo tantos acercamientos como al principio. La Unión Deportiva llegaba un poco más, pero no creó mucho peligro. Lo único destacado fue un tiro cruzado de Alberto Moleiro que rozó el palo local. Pudo haber sido un punto de inflexión para poder empatar. Sin embargo, no lo lograron.
