El alemán marcó y dio una asistencia ante el Dinamo de Zagreb e iguala sus dígitos goleadores de la temporada pasada con 20 partidos menos. El Arsenal sigue buscando un delantero centro.

Kai Havertz no es suficiente. Eso es lo que piensan tanto los aficionados como la directiva del Arsenal que creen que para competir por todas las competiciones deben hacerse con un ‘nueve’ puro. Sin embargo, pese a no ser un ariete al uso, el alemán lleva 14 dianas en 30 encuentros y sigue siendo el máximo goleador de los Gunners. En el último partido ante el Dinamo de Zagreb, el ex del Chelsea logró hacer un gol y dio una asistencia para dar un paso más hacia la clasificación directa a octavos de final de la Champions League.

Actualmente el Arsenal está vivo en todas las competiciones menos en FA Cup -eliminado por el Manchester United en los penaltis- y es uno de los favoritos en todas ellas. Sin embargo, en muchos partidos se ha dejado puntos acusando la falta de gol de sus delanteros y por la falta de una referencia ofensiva que logre materializar los pases de los Saka, Odegaard o Martinelli. Por dicho motivo, el fichaje de Kai Havertz ha sido criticado duramente por muchos aficionados e incluso le llegaron amenazas tanto a él como a su mujer por fallar alguna ocasión en el partido ante el Manchester.

El alemán cambió de equipo en Londres en 2023 cuando el Arsenal pagó 75 millones de euros al Chelsea. Petición expresa de Arteta, Havertz fue colocado en ese puesto de delantero centro aunque tuviera más libertad de movimientos, pero menos gol. En su primera temporada, le quitó el puesto a Gabriel Jesus y mantuvo a flote a los Gunners rozando el título de liga y llegando a semifinales de la Champions League.

Esta campaña, a pesar de los múltiples problemas físicos que azotan al Arsenal, van segundos de liga y están prácticamente en octavos de final de la Champions League y Kai Havertz sigue siendo el titular. Mientras suenan jugadores como Isak, Gyokerez o Sesko, el alemán sigue marcando goles y está a seis tantos de igualar su mejor marca en toda su carrera, a pesar de no ser un delantero puro.
