El conjunto de Torres vence al Mérida y se coloca provisionalmente en puestos de Play off.

Atlético de Madrid B y AD. Mérida se veían las caras en el partido correspondiente a la jornada 13 del grupo II de Primera Federación que abría un nuevo domingo futbolero. Tanto madrileños como extremeños buscaban ese empujón que les alzara a lo más alto de la clasificación, logrando así situarse en puestos de playoff.

Primera parte

Tras el pitido inicial ninguno de los dos equipos se hizo dueño del dominio, se centraron en no cometer errores y en ir imponiendo su juego a medida que pasaban los minutos. Los de Sergi Guilló fueron los primeros en proponer algo convirtiéndose en un AD. Mérida atrevido que intentó imponer su juego en el Cerro del espino.

Pasaban los minutos y las porterías no corrían serio peligro para ningún bando, hasta que poco a poco la magia de la cantera rojiblanca iba haciendo mella y consiguiendo acciones de peligro. Adrián niño, uno de los púnzales del conjunto de Fernando Torres, no paro de insistir con grandes controles orientados que le permitían probar aunque desde distancias lejanas. En el Minuto 21 iba a llegar la primera del encuentro, una gran acción por el perfil izquierdo del conjunto rojiblanco que finalizaba el mismo Niño en el poste, un buen remate que provoco que en el área pequeña hubiera un balón sin dueño que aprovecho Mollejo para poner el primer tanto de la mañana en el cerro del Espino.

El Mérida supo reaccionar y obtuvo varias ocasiones de peligro real en acciones a balón parado. El partido poco a poco se iba caldeando con enganchones y faltas que no estaban recibiendo castigo, hasta que en el minuto 40 donde una vez más, gracias a los buenos controles orientados, Mollejo provocó la primera amarilla sobre Climent quien se vio forzado a cortar la transición del conjunto colchonero. El  colegiado estaba empezando a sentir la presión del Cerro del Espino. El juego empezaba a desaparecer y tanto los parones como los enganchones ganaban mayor protagonismo en el terreno de juego. De nuevo una nueva gran ocasión del Atlético de Madrid B a balón parado generó una de las jugadas más polémicas con un posible penalti sobre el conjunto de Torres.

Ya en el descuento, a escasos segundos de que los jugadores encarasen el túnel de vestuarios. El colegiado señaló una falta peligrosa de Javi Serrano en la frontal del área, castigada con una nueva amarilla que finalmente desaprovechó el conjunto extremeño.

Segunda parte

La segunda mitad comenzó con la misma tónica que acabó la primera. El conjunto de Torres mucho más hundido, con un bloque más posicional y más junto que en la primera parte. Defendiendo el resultado y lo que serían los primeros tres puntos como local. El Mérida no dejaba de intentarlo mientras que los madrileños buscaban la velocidad de Niño y Mollejo a través de transiciones con peligro.

Sería en el minuto 67 cuando Torres vio el color que el partido estaba comenzando a coger e inmediatamente ingresó en el terreno de juego a la perla rojiblanca El Jebari, con la intención de añadir una gran amenaza en banda y así cortar las ofensivas del equipo extremeño. El cambio no tuvo el efecto que buscaba el entrenador colchonero ya que los pupilos de Guilló a medida que pasaban los minutos iban encontrando más espacios y a su vez interpretando mejor el juego, encontrándose más cómodos y se acercándose de manera más seria a la portería de Gomis, quien en más de una ocasión salvaría al equipo madrileño. La tensión iba en crescendo y los minutos finales no iban a defraudar a nadie. Un miembro del cuerpo técnico del conjunto de Fernando Torres fue expulsado tras una acción polémica en un saque de banda. Los minutos se agotaban y los extremeños no conseguían sacar nada positivo, hasta que en los segundos finales con una falta en la medular del terreno de juego, los de Guilló iban a disponer de la última jugada del partido que finalmente quedaría en nada.

Tras el pitido final el técnico del A.D Mérida expreso en rueda de prensa las sensaciones de su equipo. primera parte había sido merecedora del empate, y que en la segunda mitad incluso se han merecido ganar, con un monólogo de los extremeños, «La primera parte ha sido merecedora de empate, y en la segundo incluso hemos merecido llevarnos los tres puntos.
