Argentina se hizo con los 3 puntos después de un partido frenético
La selección albiceleste dominó durante todo el partido, pero hasta los últimos instantes no marcó. Lautaro con un rebote en un córner hizo el único gol del partido. Chile debe confiar en ganar a Canadá para clasificar.
Primera parte
En los primeros minutos del partido, ambas selecciones salieron a presionar. La presión de las dos selecciones impidió el control del balón de una de ellas. Sobre el minuto 20, Julián Álvarez recibió un centro raso de Nicolás González. Su remate directo fue blocado por Claudio Bravo. Tras varios minutos de control argentino, un tiro de Leo Messi desde fuera del área se topó con el poste.
Los minutos siguientes se vio un dominio claro por parte del conjunto argentino. Chile se encontró encerrada y con el único objetivo de aguantar y salir a la contra. La falta de precisión de los delanteros argentinos dejaron viva a la selección chilena.
La primera parte finalizó con empate a 0 en el marcador. Argentina controló toda la primera mitad y dejó a Chile encerrada en su campo.
Segunda parte
La segunda parte comenzó de un modo frenético. Tras una buena salida de Argentina, Nahuel Molina tuvo la oportunidad de poner el primero, pero el disparo se estrelló en Bravo. Argentina continuó con el dominio del balón. Así, Mac Allister remató un centro perfecto, pero el remate se le quedó muy flojo.
Pasaban los minutos y las ocasiones de Argentina se incrementaban. Un tiro a bocajarro de Nicolás González no entró gracias a Bravo y al larguero. Pero, Chile aún seguía con su táctica. Tras una pérdida del Cuti, Chile salió a la contra, pero el remate no generó mucho peligro. Esta acción animó a la roja.
En el minuto 75, Echeverría remató un balón muerto que despejó el Dibu con alguna dificultad. Las ocasiones seguían sucediendo y hasta el minuto 88 no hubo gol. Lautaro fue el encargado de marcar el único gol del partido.
El partido finalizó con un solitario gol de Lautaro y la clasificación como primera del conjunto argentino.
